Weightwatchers - is there a minimum loss goal?

I only want to shift 10 lbs, is that too little (it looks like a hell of a lot from where I 'm sitting let me tell ya) to want to lose? Will I be laughed at and shown the door by Margery Daws?

I'm serious, I need third party intervention to lose some weight this time.

they have some sort of minimum weight within a range. It depends how much you weigh now. DCs playing up at the moment but I will find my books later and post if i find it.

suzywong · 23/10/2007 16:00

thanks cerys

yes I know you told me yesterday but I WANT SOME ATTENTION! Why must you always ruin my fun?

I think that as long as the 10lbs you want to lose doesn't take you into the underweight range then they will happily take your money, let you join.

IntergalacticWarlock · 23/10/2007 16:08

Only 10lbs overweigt? Oooh, I'd love to be only 10lbs overweight.

I'm a fat heiffer and have somethibng like 5.5 stone to get rid of.

To jpoin slimming world, you have to be 7lbs or more above your "target weight" which should fall in your BMI range, or smothing like that.

look here for some info

hope the link works, good luck.

suzywong · 24/10/2007 08:53

thanks for the link
so they would let me aim for the middle of my healthy weight range?

I'm going to wear clinging white tonight and have bad psotures at the first meeting and take a pack of sausage rolls to snack on, that should do the trick.

Suzy when i first joined weight watchers only had a little weight to loose too and felt like I might be seen as a fraud going in there but the group I went to was really great and supportive no matter how much or little people had to loose - I've been a gold member for 9 years now too!

Good Luck

thanks for all the tips, I need to lose 7 kilos, slightly more than 10lbs. The points system looks foolproof, but I will NOT be making any dips with 5% philly and packet French Onion Soup.

suzy, I lost 3 stone after DD1 was born (she is 7 now), doing the points plan. Then I got pregnant with DD2, never lost the weight, then had DS...! He is now 3 and I am once again 3-3.5 stone overweight and back at WW.

Good luck, and I don't make most of the vile recipe ideas either

ScaryScienceT · 24/10/2007 19:54

I don't think there is a minimum. The BMI band is very wide so you can set your goal towards the bottom end of this. Also, you can opt for a maintenance programme rather than weight loss.

Carmenere · 24/10/2007 19:55

I am doing WW atm Suze and the reason I can do it is that I can eat and drink what I want in moderation. TBH I tend to eat very low point food(and not much of it) during the day and eat good healthy food at night and have a glass of wine too. It is working but slowly. I have lost 17.5lbs over the past 6 months but that weight is never going back on. Ever. and I can keep this going until I have lost another 2 stone because I am able to eat food I like. If you have only 15lbs to lose you could easily do it whilst eating properly and avoid philly and onion soup dip
