If you're towards the top of the healthy BMI range....

...do you think you're slim? I'm right towards the top, occasionally dip over then back just under and I feel as if I'm distinctly overweight- not by a lot but I'd be very surprised ( delighted though) to be described as slim.
Anyone else around this pint, how do you feel?

These people are the same fat percentage but one has more muscle mass.

I'm slap bang in the middle of the healthy range and I don't feel thin. I think it's because despite being a healthy weight and quite active, I'm pear-shaped, so I have a big bum and thighs. I also have a small frame, which means I can't carry a lot of weight without looking fat! BMI is such a blunt tool IMO. I was a stone heavier than I am now when I was at uni and I was definitely fat then.

BMI is 23.9, I don’t feel slim, but I don’t think I’m fat or need to lose weight either. I think I carry the weight quite well as everything is relatively proportioned. I have a decent sized bum and boobs, which I think stops me looking fat. I used to be very skinny when I was younger and got negative comments all the time, so I’m much happier now.

Mine is 25.5 - and I feel fit as fuck right now Grin I’ve spent this year losing two stone, and now weight the same as I did when I went to uni 20 years ago. I have fairly high muscle mass, a small waist, and big boobs and arse though, so it’s all fairly well distributed. I think even if I do manage to lose the extra 2/3kg to get into the ‘normal’ bracket, I’ll never be a size 10, because I carry weight in my arse/saddle bags and it’s always the last thing to go. The two stone I lost this year only got me down one dress size because of this. But to answer the question, I feel much slimmer, and less bulky. Wether I’d describe myself as slim... probably not. I’d say I’m whatever average is.

Bmi is 24.5. I feel blobby at the moment. Definitely need to lose a stone

kowari · 01/12/2020 18:07

I feel slim at a BMI of 21 and under. 23 or higher is too heavy for my build and I don't look healthy.

redpiggywiggy · 01/12/2020 18:52

I am at the top of the BMI I feel the fattest I've ever been. My tummy wobbles all the time. But I think if I was toned and heavy I'd be ok I'm just too lazy and eat too much so here I am!
