Eat 5 portions of fruit and veg and do more?

It sounds like a simple approach.
I do believe it will help me to get healthier and lose weight at a gentle pace?
I’m coming from a place where my diet is pretty bad and I usually don’t get much fruit and veg in during the day. I’m not exactly gorging on crap but a day can be porridge, cheese sandwich, chicken and rice with lots of rubbish snacks throughout
The idea is to firstly feel more nourished and energised from better food and some more activity. Has anyone found positive affects from a similar approach?
Please join if you think it will work. Smile

It's the snacking, you know that. Eating more fruit alone won't help but it will if you use it to replace your "rubbish snacks"

Likewise doing more. The exercise itself won't make a lot of difference, you need to run for a out 45mins to burn off a Mars Bar but if by doing more you eat less junk, it will make a big difference. For example, if you go for a long walk instead of watching a film with crisps and chocolate. For me, in terms of weightloss/control the main benefit of exercise is that I'm not eating while I do it.

Thank you for your response @BecomeStronger. I am hoping to bulk up my meals with the veg and snack on some fruit instead of the rubbish. I didn’t make that clear, did I? Blush

I snack and I am losing.
It depends on how you snack and what you snack. I have 7 +hours between lunch and dinner so I have a snack in the middle. Usually libe cultures yogurt and fruit. Then I have snack later in the evening if I fancy. Apple and cheese or similar. But always at the same time. Like a meal. No grazing.

You will feel better. I would say "lighter". Take some of the rice off and put in sauteed young broccoli. Or normal broccoli. All are tasty if you don't over cook them. Add some veg to your dandwich as well. Bell pepper is very healthy and it's beautifully suited for sandwiches. Cut in half and flatten😁 Use dark leaf greens. Lots of taste and nutrition. Bit of rocket or lamb lettuce uplifts any sandwich and salad imho.

Make small changes bit by bit so you don't try to do too much and get overwhelming.

I agree re exercise! It doesn't by itself make difference in butning but feeling fitter and having better posture certainly helps to keep doing something good for yourself. It makes an enormous difference to me.
