Getting out of nights out/meals

I need a bit of advice please. I've been doing the Cambridge plan but am keeping it private, I don't want anyone to know unless I can't avoid it. Ive always struggled with my weight, I've put on a brave face but deep down, have been really unhappy with the way I look.
I have a group of 'fit' friends who do a lot of running. They are all really lovely but I wouldn't say we're really close friends (ie. we don't feel the need to catch up over a cuppa if we haven't seen each other for a few weeks). Anyway, we' have a Xmas night out planned which I'm looking forward to as its the first week after I complete my 12 weeks on the Cambridge Plan (though I will be plan and be careful). However, they are now trying to organise something in the next couple of weeks and I know it will involve loads of food and drink. I'm not willing to fall off plan for this but I also don't want people to know I'm doing this plan. I know I might also have a works Xmas meal coming up and my Mum wants to go Xmas shopping and take me out for lunch in the next few weeks - aaaaarrrggghhh!!! What can I do? what excuse can I come up with? I really don't want to tell all these people about it because they will start asking loads of questions and scrutinising my choice and even try to sabotage it (my Mum is really bad for this). Its making me really anxious thinking about how to deal with these situations.

That's very impressive.

Two years ago I did 9 weeks of cwp meal replacement and was going into the christmas party time just as I started to eat more normal meals. I was super nervous about derailing during the first stage. Got myself worried that a boiled egg would mean the plan wouldn't work.

Stick with it, you sound very much in the zone, and you will see amazing results.

thank you. Luckily it now looks like the girls night wont be going ahead. One of the other girlfriends invited was quite blunt with the one trying to organise it and asked why now? and that its not a good idea with COVID and she's not willing to risk it.

That makes it easier then, your instinct that it wasn't a good time was correct. Good luck with the plan.

Just join them at the end of the meal for a glass of wine
