It seems expensive, you have to stab yourself every day, the long term effects aren’t known but there could be
“ a host of side effects, including vomiting, nausea, severe headaches, damage to the kidneys, thyroid gland and pancreas, and are even linked to the development of cancer “
Also, once you stop injections, what happens then?
Quick fixes rarely work long term. I do understand the desperate need to drop weight to kickstart it all, I used to be 3 stone heavier and was desperately unhappy but couldn’t stop eating.
If you have that kind of money spare then i think it could be more beneficial to pay to explore ways to help long term such as real nutritional advice, so that the food you eat does fill you up, or counselling to unpick you’re relationship with food /discover what hole you are trying to fill with food.
Personally I find if I eat a carb heavy diet I literally can’t fill myself and could over eat 100’s & 100’s of calories every day but, if I prepare and eat lean protein, healthy fats & several portions of veg then I don’t feel hungry and can stick to my calorie targets.
Sorry, I know that’s not what you asked for in your op but I don’t think injecting yourself with drugs is the way to go, especially as
“ that most studies of liraglutide encouraged participants to do 150 minutes of exercise per week and cut calories by 500kcals a day – as well as taking the drug. “If you don’t follow that study protocol, you may well find you don’t have the same benefit,” “
