Loosing weight without exercise?

Is it doable?

I've lost around 11kgs in 2-3 months over lockdown with a combination of calorie counting and exercise.
Now work / school runs and general life has kicked in a bit more and I'm finding myself very pressed for time.
I've maintained without exercise for over 2 months now.

Im quite happy with my weight already and comfortably within the health bmi range but would like to loose another 5-7kg which would put me at what I know to be my favourite weight range when I look and feel my best.

Is it doable without working out? Is there a good method / diet that is sustainable and yields good results? I worked out if I wanted to loose using calorie counting at my current weight I would be cutting down to silly amounts of food and be permanently hungry so I know that's not the way.

It's possible. But as you've already realised, it probably means cutting down what you eat to a level that's not comfortable for you.

So in if this is the case does this mean there really is no other way to diet without working out other than living in permanent hunger?

To lose weight, you need to take in less energy than you expend. That means either increasing exercise to such a level that you burn more calories or dropping food intake.

When you say you don’t exercise, what do you mean? Because you don’t need to do formal workouts to move your body and walking, cleaning etc count too. But if you genuinely mean that you are sedentary and take relatively few steps per day (less than 5,000’or so) then that isn’t very healthy for a range of reasons. Also, you lose muscle tone as you age so it makes sense to build it up and maintain it to stop suffering future ill effects. So I would advise prioritising exercise regardless of weight loss goals.

One thing you could try is to look up the maintenance calories needed for your goal weight (not your current weight). If you ate that, then eventually you should hit your goal but it’s likely to take a long time.

Personally if you’re a healthy BMI, I’d focus on strength and fitness, which will cause inch loss even if the scale doesn’t move.

I lost a stone with no extra exercise, ( oh and not intending to either Grin) ) of course doing 'normal" exercise But no gymtype. By Food Combining . Which means not eating carbs and protein together. Also eating fruit on an empty stomach.

No calorie counting at all I have never counted calories and have maintained my size baggy vanity sized 10 Grin for many years.

Also going on the Paul Mackenna way of eating; he suggests we eat slowly, at a table really enjoying our food NO STARVATION eat when you are hungry ,healthily of course, no junk. Only going by my clothes not the scales too
