No solid food (due to multiple dental issues) for 4-8 weeks

Hi all,

Due to a broken filling / tooth and needing fillings on the other side and the next available apt being weeks away (unless I get a cancellation- due to Covid ) I am unable to eat solid foods particularly sugary, chewy, hard foods. I am basically allowed to have purées and liquids and have to drink them with a straw where possible.

I am about 5 stone overweight so have plenty to keep me going.

I am planning living off purées, protein shakes, yoghurts and soup. Although I can’t have extremes of temperatures.

So yeah any advice ? Im using this to keep me going

Have you looked at Huel? I'm
Not sure it tastes amazing, but it would help you get vitamins etc and doesn't contain sugar

Thanks I’ll take a look @sar302

Would you be able to eat some mashed potatoes with things in them? Something like stovies?

Studentnursesos12e · 06/10/2020 15:06

Good idea thanks x

One of my favourite 'drinks' is 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder with a banana and teaspoon of peanut butter. This can be made up with either water or, as you're only having liquids, milk might be better in terms of nutrients/calories.

Make yourself a proper bone broth. You can sip it and you can also use it as a base for thick soups. It's really nutritional good thing and really easy to make.

Also, if you need to top up fibre, psyllium husk is great for it

I’d recommend Huel as PP said. The texture can be a bit off putting if you make it fresh - I make it up and put the shaker in the fridge overnight. I have it every day and have for a couple of years. Also helps with the fibre side and macros/vitamins.
