Help! I am obese and disgusted in myself, but still can't stop eating! Too easy to reach for biscuits/chocolate. Can't not buy them as dd and dh shouldn't need to suffer just because I can't say no. So looking for some tips on how to lose weight. Dinner ideas and snack ideas please. Thank you

I plan my food which helps
Have lower calories stuff like small bags of popcorn, freddos, flumps, low calorie fruit ice lollies, light babybel etc
Bulk up meals with veg or salad so you're full without the calories. I add bags of steam frozen veg to everything!
Check calories in bread/wraps as they can be high
I try and down some water before I reach for something to snack on, or if I'm still hungry have an apple with a bit of peanut butter or cheese as keeps me full for longer

Come join us on the LOSE IT! October 2020 thread.

I started out beginning of August at 233lb, today I'm 206 and only 9lb off of leaving the obese category.

For me what worked was downloading My Fitness Pal and logging every single thing I eat and drink so I'm accountable and can't just forget how many calories I've eaten. A chocolate hobnob is 92 calories by the way 😲

I also created an account on the Our Parks website and do their free couch to fitness programme 3 times a week.

StormsDontLastForever, I read quite a good tip here the other day which was to stop eating sugar rubbish but carry on eating savoury rubbish to wean yourself off sugar. Takes a few weeks before the craving for sugar goes but it does - and then you can tackle making your diet healthier as needed.

A sugar addiction is really tough. I don't have one (no excuse there) but I know that if I do eat sugary stuff then it makes me hungrier and less willing/able to hold back on eating more of it - or other stuff that's not the best.

I fast now. I really find that effective. I eat anytime from 9am until 5pm but routinely I shorten the window because I'm not a morning eater - and generally stop by 3pm but definitely by 5pm.

Find the best route through for you. I've done WW/SW and goodness knows what else. They don't work for me but do for other people.
