LLOYDS WEIGHT MANAGEMENT INJECTIONS

Taloola40 · 01/10/2020 17:52

Hello,

Has anyone tried the above?? I've had my consultation today. Now I know there's going to be skepticism on this, but ttrust me I have tried and tried and I just can't shift the weight. My BMI is 39 and I found out today my BP is the highest it's been.

Have any of you guys tried anything like this, any experiences?

Thanks in advance. X

Is this Saxenda?

FatGirlShrinking · 01/10/2020 18:02

Yes it's Saxender that Lloyd's offer.

There is a thread on here in the weight loss section about saxender and lots of online reviews.

I've never tried it and wouldn't as it has lots of negative reviews due to gastrointestinal side effects, there are also some concerns about long term health problems.

SozBabes · 01/10/2020 18:04

Absolutely awful.

NancyBotwinBloom · 01/10/2020 18:14

I've just read the post on a thread called

Saxends - you may want to read

Taloola40 · 01/10/2020 20:13

Yeah I've heard so many mixed reviews. To be fair my gut health is already awful with what I do eat. They do tell you all the nasty side effects but these are apparently short term. Think I've just weighed up the risks involving keeping going the way I am and trying these injections.

NancyBotwinBloom · 01/10/2020 20:22

Oh op they have a risk to the worst type of cancer.

No point being skinny when your fucked

NerrSnerr · 01/10/2020 20:36

I haven't read any studies but please please do some serious research as on the other threads it says it is linked with pancreatic cancer.

Taloola40 · 01/10/2020 20:44

Thanks everyone.

The pharmacist went over everything but I will look more into it. I don't want to do it for the long term, just to get me going. Statistically I'm more at risk to cancers etc being this overweight.

NancyBotwinBloom · 01/10/2020 20:48

Op I don't think people will change your mind. But. You have these injections a few times, it increases your risk. To lose weight. To reduce other risks.

If increasing your risk to something fatal is that risk then fuck it off.

Your risk of dying from the other things is less.

For the sake of being fucking thin.

NancyBotwinBloom · 01/10/2020 20:51

I've been fat, thin, all kinds of in between but either way I not going to increase my cancer chances by losing a quick few stone.

I'd rather still be here a bit fat and just nerving to look at my diet and exercise more

FreshfieldsGal · 01/10/2020 20:54

I looked at these op, I'm obese and also have pcos, am perimenopausal etc.
However the risk of cancer etc from these jabs is not worth taking the chance imo.

Have you tried xenical/orlistat? Far less serious possible side effects.

TweeBree · 01/10/2020 20:56

People have been on it for years with no ill effects. There's a FB group called Saxenda Support Group. Worth joining to get a better picture.

Loseastonein21years · 02/10/2020 06:28

It’s been linked to pancreatic cancer. If you think that’s a risk worth taking then I can’t help you really. It won’t be the magic solution though by the way. When you’re down to having to inject yourself daily to stop eating, whatever you’re doing or eating isn’t working for you. It’s certainly not something you’ll be able to do for life either so even if it does work, it will be temporary.

Also, Gemma Collins has been using this for many months and doesn’t seem to have lost any weight so it’s probably the equivalent of flushing 300 quid a month down the toilet or however much it costs.

superram · 02/10/2020 07:09

I would try the fast 800 first. My bmi was Just over 32 and I’ve lost a stone in 24 days, now overweight rather than obese. It’s only 3 weeks could your appointment wait 3 weeks?

RefuseTheLies · 02/10/2020 07:16

I use saxenda and it’s been fabulous for me. I’ve lost over two stone on it, with no side effects. Obesity can bring its own long term health complications, so although I have taken the risks of the injection in to consideration, for me, it has been worth it for the immediate health gains that come with a decreasing bmi.

Taloola40 · 02/10/2020 10:06

@Loseastonein21years Gemma Collins claims she's lost over 3.5stones. True or not I'm not sure.

OP posts:
Taloola40 · 02/10/2020 10:07

@RefuseTheLies thanks for the feedback. I agree. My diet is horrendous. The chemicals in the crap food I eat has got to be ten times worse!! I was to do it until Xmas see how it goes. Happy to hear your progress. X

Loseastonein21years · 02/10/2020 17:14

I mean the pap photos sort of speak for themselves I’d say. She’s also been on them for over a year so even if she had lost 3.5 stone that wouldn’t be particularly rapid or impressive and certainly doable doing healthy eating and exercise.
For me, nothing would be worth risking cancer, especially not pancreatic cancer. If you can only lose weight through injecting yourself then you won’t keep it off anyway so it seems a bit pointless.

MummaFfi87 · 11/04/2021 00:42

Hi OP! Did you end up taking the jabs? I’m considering it and I wondered if you went for it and how you got on. TIA

SavingsQuestions · 11/04/2021 02:56

Im intwrestsd. I wish I wasn't but the thought anything could help would surely help current risk of everything from high bmi.

Same! My BMI is 45. I’ve done slimming world, weight watchers, tried the god awful fat binding pills, mindful eating, Keto, calorie counting, CBT, I do 10k steps on my Fitbit everyday, I’ve had several therapists, the list goes on. I lose weight then just put it all back on plus another stone. I’m at a point now where I feel damn near suicidal because I’m so frustrated. I’d consider surgery at this point, but if there’s another way before that! I’ll take it. Just don’t want to waste £700 if they’re not worth it.
OhMyChrist2020 · 11/04/2021 11:34

Please please read the book ‘Why We Eat Too Much’ by Dr Andrew Jenkins. It’s a recently published explanation of why conventional dieting, especially calorie restriction, is totally ineffective when trying to lose weight and actually makes the problem worse. I can’t recommend it highly enough and it’s completely changed my attitude to what I eat. Please give it a read before you consider anything drastic x

OhMyChrist2020 · 11/04/2021 11:35

Sorry - that should be Andrew Jenkinson Hmm

Read it 😎 and ‘why diets don’t work’ I’ve even tried hypnotherapy. I’m armed with all the knowledge. Doesn’t stop me unfortunately.
