Can someone please explain what is going on with my body?

Ok, here's the thing...

4 weeks ago, I low carbed for a few days but then stopped as was going on holiday.

3 weeks ago, I went on holiday, ate all kinds of bad things and put on half a stone.

2 weeks ago, got back from holiday and loosely followed SW. Lost nothing.

1 week ago, joined slimming world properly, followed it to the letter - and put on half a pound!

In the last 3 days, I seem to suddenly have lost 4lbs.

What on earth is happening with my schizo body and has anyone else experienced similar? Have my random dieting approaches screwed me up, and if so, think it's going to settle down and make it worth sticking with SW now to actually stand a chance of losing weight properly?

(Unless my bathroom scales are lying to me and I haven't lost 4lbs in 3 days, but I'm assuming that I have.)

The first time I joined SW I had been dieting beforehand, and I gained a pound in the first week. Was told to eat more! Did so, and lost a few pounds the next week.

Definitely worth sticking with SW, but do follow it fully - it's not the sort of plan that you can 'loosely follow', because of the fact that you can eat so much, so then eating the 'wrong' food has a bigger impact than it normally would.

Following various different plans in quick succession are likely to confuse your body!

Choose whichever plan you think will suit you/your lifestyle best and stick to it!

Good luck, btw.

Cheers - def going to stick with it because its the only diet I can see myself doing long term. Just a bit demoralising when its all going the wrong way!

Cheers Dior. Spose if the worst comes to the worst SW have a 4 week money back guarantee! (Oh, the shame though, imagine...)

One of the most difficult things about trying to lose weight is having patience! It seems to go on so quickly but takes an age to disappear.

You should be working on losing 1-2lbs a week for safe weight loss (and weight loss that will be sustained). But I know how paltry that seems!

Never done SW myself so can't help any more, but good luck and hope next week the scales are kind to you.

You may find it is your water content going up and down that is causing it to look like you are gaining and losing weight - as another post says it is a monthly weight that is really going to tell you whether you have gained lost or stayed the same.

Salt content in your meals can also add to your weight - more salt in your body and your body will hold water. Lots of quick fix weight loss diets have very little salt - so it appears you have lost weight quickly and really it is all water as no salt in your body to hold the water!

Keep weighing yourslef daily and you will see how your weight goes up, down same - the important thing is to stick to a sensible eating habit and see what you weigh after a month.
