If you've lost/ losing weight during lockdown what was your trigger

OK I am fat. Pre diabetic. Was doing OK Pre lockdown as had worked some exercise into my routine, but nothing dramatic.

Lockdown has been a disaster have put in about a stone. Can't get into any clothes that are non stretchy, but there seems no time in the day to exercise what with kids/work/ house, and food is definitely my comfort blanket. I've realised however that it's also what's making me feel down.

So if you've started to loose weight during lockdown, what's your secret to getting started ?

Just had my first personal training session, 7am on a Monday morning! What's the trigger.. I sat in the car and could feel my tummy touching my legs..!!! Never before have I had that feeling and I'm absolutely horrified. I've enjoyed lockdown a bit too much..

pure fear. hearing that people with bmi over 40 had a greater chance of getting seriously ill or dying with Covid19. my bmi was over 43. now it's nearly down to 35.

I always knew that I needed to eat less and needed to be a bit hungry to give my body a chance to burn the stored fat, but pre-lockdown the sensation of hunger was a huge emotional block for me, I couldn't handle it as it triggered a cascade of feelings of worthlessness and self-hatred (yes serious food issues as food has always been a reward, and withholding of food a punishment, since my childhood). now I am not experiencing that - instead I am perceiving the sensation of hunger (not unbearable hunger, just the "feeling a bit peckish" which would previously had me getting an extra slice of bread and jam that I didn't need) I can experience as a positive thing - this is the sensation of me getting healthier.

Earlier this year I read something which said the difference between cravings and actually hunger is that real hunger comes in gradual, whereas cravings are immediate and all-consuming. At the moment, I'm doing 16:8 and have realised I can get in with things even though I'm hungry. I read this The Diet Myth: The Real Science Behind What We Eat https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1780229003/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_lcB-Eb99DNASQ and have been trying to eat for gut health, to try to conquer cravings.
My weight was higher than its ever been without being pregnant and I was about to go over 14st. Struggling with clothes. Doctor agreed to put me on metformin (I have PCOS) as everything I've done in the past two years to lose weight hasn't worked (I'm 48). My stress levels came down after some good news. Stabilised first, then started doing 16:8 two or three days a week. 5lbs off so far. At the moment I'm in that weight loss virtuous circle. Our scales broke and I got funky new ones that calculate your body fat etc - gives me ever more to track with my fitbit. I feel in control for once. Good luck.

Losing sensation of my stomach, due to a rare neurological condition.

I have no sense of hunger at all, plus I throw up if I eat too much. Therefore I easily lost 2 stone recently.

Wouldn't recommend it, it also comes with bucket load of nerve pain and removal of your ability to drive or walk more than a handful of steps !
