Hi guys,

I had my second baby in October. I also have a 2 year old. I put on 4 stone in both of my pregnancies. I managed to lose 3 stone quite easily and steadily. Since Feb I've managed to lose another half a stone but I seem to have hit a brick wall. I can't seem to shift any more weight! I am still breastfeeding. I honestly feel disgusting. I look in the mirror and just don't recommission myself. I feel so wide and wobbly and just yuck. I've never been big with excercise. I do try and do as much walking as possible but sometime it's so hard with a toddler and a baby. Has anybody got any advice? Xx

Good news is, exercise is great for health and mental, but has a very tiny impact on weight. What you eat , when and how often will determine f you lose weight or not. Controlling the food is both easier and harder at the same time. Easier because, you don't need equipment, time or someone looking after the children. And harder because a lot of the behaviours are so rooted in us since years or decades, we can't distinguish between hunger and cravings.
And can I add that seriously covid doesn't help.

Can you identify what it is in what you eat that prevents you from losing the weight. Do you snack? do you eat processed food (even "healthy" processed food).

Would you share some of the food you eat in a typical day? Do you know what triggers you to grab a snack? Relaxing after the kids are in bed? Watching telly? Stress?

Once you understand that all calories are not equal and that insulin plays a big role in storing and releasing fat, it will be easier.

The evenings are definitely when I fail big time. Every single morning I have a smoothie, lunch I have a tuna sandwich and dinner I'll have prob a spag bol or chicken curry. When the kids go to bed though I will have a crisps and chocolate. Also my partner is a bit of a foodie and when he makes dinner the portions are pretty big. To be honest I won't lie some days I'm just greedy and have nobody to blame but myself.

Well, then you just know. Remove crisps and chocolate from the house and don't buy them again. You will miss them at first because that how they were manufactured, to make you crave them with the perfect storm recipe of just the right amount of fat, salt and sugar.
You think they make you feel good, but in the end, they make you feel bad.
Having a foodie husband is great. Food is not the issue . Food-like substances such as ultra process snacks is.
What do you put in your smoothie? I also have one in the morning but the maximum fruit I have in it is half a small banana and a handful of blueberries and then a ton of kale and spinach.
