Has anyone lost or wanting to lose 5 stone ?

I have been overweight since a teenager, now 35. With everything that's been happening with the covid, reality has set in that I NEED to lose this weight - 5 stone.

Is this realistic in a year ? Using my fitness pal to track my calories and trying to incorporate some exercise.

Also, for those that have lost this much weight, were you left with saggy baggy skin ? I have stretch Mark's on my tummy and shoulders so this is a big concern.

Wow NiceLegs, well done, that is inspirational! How did you do it?

I’ve got 5 stone to lose if I want to reach the healthy weight range, and probably more to look my best. I am my own worst enemy with emotional eating and self-sabotage. Have lots of excuses but can’t keep on making them. Found myself on a thread from more than 5 years ago where I was going to to definitely make a change and lose weight for good...

I just bought a book called Stick With It which I am hoping will give my some magic powers to stay on track from now on!

Thank you @MsMarple

I went to Weight Watchers and, after shifting the first couple of stones, hit the gym and got myself an amazing personal trainer.

You'll get all sorts of bullshit on here, telling you that weight loss classes don't work (well, they worked for me), that low carb is the way, that replacement shakes are where it's at. You know what? There's no right or wrong way to do it. You need to find something that works for you and fits in with your lifestyle. For you are not me. And I am not you Smile

Good luck. There are no limits to what you can do once you start.

I was only 39 in the 'before' pic. Blush And 50 in the 'after'. I'm 53 now and a (very soon to be) competitive bodybuilder. I never thought it possible .....

You look amazing @NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace you have really motivated me. I need all the motivation I can get first day back at work for the H and he has finished already I thought he would be out all day I was so excited to have him gone all day instead he is coming home and I could just fucking cry . Scrap that I am crying I was happy getting up today and now this constantly tidying up after him and listening to him singing at the top of his voice whilst playing guitar and spending 2 hours a day in total on the fucking toilet oh yes and him also regularly checking my air fresheners to be sure I haven't switched them up to above the lowest setting. AHHHHHHHHHHH

I've lost just over 4.7 stone since 1st January this year ( I'm planning on losing another 1.5 st to get me well into a healthy BMI and then possibly a little more depending on how I look!). I think it will definitely be possible for you to achieve within a year, even sooner if you aim to lose 7lbs a month.

To answer you question I haven't got any loose skin yet although I expect I will as I had 2 massive babies! I did read somewhere that apart from genetics you are more likely to get loose skin in the areas you have stretch marks and if you've been overweight for a long time as the skin is less elastic because of this. I'm trying to do a bit of resistance training to help build muscle which helps prevent loose skin too.

Good luck! Just think - this time next year you could be 5st lighter Smile

No, I have no loose skin either. I feel quite lucky as it would impact negatively on my bodybuilding Blush
