I'm light but I have a lot of fat!

I am currently 159cm tall and I weigh 38.5kg but I have a lot of fat on my body. I want to lose this fat but would going below my current weight be dangerous?
I have never been anorexic before- most my family are quite light too!

Your not fat.
Not at all.
I think you need to really look at other people.
People you think look good and you will see the truth.
Something in your head is misleading you, making you feel your bigger that you are.
Look at Posh Spice or Catherine the D of C.
Both are larger than you.

I read the title thinking "me too!"

Then I read your weight and thought "not so so much."

It's not weight you need to loose at all. But you could change your diet including more protein and healthy fats maybe? And add some weight training? So you are toning rather than loosing.

People are trying to use these boards in a constructive way to lose weight so go and troll elsewhere. If your stats were correct (which I doubt), you’d have a BMI of 15 and would probably be in some sort of treatment for an eating disorder. Clearly your body doesn’t have ‘a lot of fat’ on it.

jellybean85 · 09/06/2020 15:40

Is this a typo? That's very light! I'm a size 10/12 and weight 73kg

Thighmageddon · 09/06/2020 15:49

That's about 6st. My dd is a little taller than you and at least a stone heavier and she is tiny, size 6/4.

I'd think it's more likely you need to tone up,so use weights to improve your muscle strength.

You really don't need to lose weight.

SeoHyunJin · 09/06/2020 16:02

@Thighmageddon I do not really want to lose weight at all but is toning likely to make me lighter?

Lighter means weighing less so saying that implies you want to lose weight.

Weight training will tone you up.

jellybean85 · 09/06/2020 17:07

I definitely think you could 'tone up' from strength training. At that weight you must have very little muscle which can put you at risk of injury and joint problems without sufficient muscle to promote healthy movement:
You might end up smaller but heavier if that makes sense, when I started doing strength as well as cardio I went down two dress sizes but up a couple of kg. I look healthier and slimmer though

Neolara · 09/06/2020 17:12

OP. Can I suggest you go and talk to your GP. At that weight and height you clearly do not have lots of fat, and the fact you are looking for advice on how to lose fat suggests you have disordered thinking around food. It would be a really, really good idea to get medical support with this.

UrbanDoughnut · 09/06/2020 21:10

People shouldn't be indulging you with this. If you're real then you are suffering with mental issues and should see a doctor

Nobody should give you advice on fat loss ffs
