I'm starting tomorrow. I used to be an ok runner but I'm out of shape. I think this will be good for my mental health whilst I'm off work due to the lock down. Would love to hear any tips or success stories.

So I thought I would start this for the same Reasons but my first run I ran nearly 4K, was very surprised. I think it was partly the joy of being out of the house. So I'm going to try for 5k tomorrow. You might find it's easier than you expect. I've done couch to 5k before and really struggled.

Hi
I'm starting it tomorrow but on a running machine in my garage.
I did it 18 months ago but hurt my knee doing yoga of all things. It's now fixed with physio so I need to take it easy so thought starting from scratch would help.
Good luck

I think it will be fantastic for your mental health. I did it a year ago and I'm still running every day. I've lost loads of weight but the real benefits are how much better I feel for being able to do it, and the thinking time I have to myself each morning. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm actually looking forward to it. I think I will alternate a run with yoga on my rest days. I need to prioritise some time to myself every day. I'm a teacher so 'teaching' online, with two kids running around. I'm sat at my laptop for most of the day whilst attempting to answer kids queries and keep my two entertained. Dh works from home so is taking himself to his study for hours and leaving me to it because that's what he normally does. Hmm

I'm going to start today! And try and alternate this with Yoga with Adrienne and some Lucy Wyndham Read short workouts on You Tube.

I need this bloody stone and a half off and I can feel my mental health starting to slip slightly. Good luck all!

I was going to use this time to go C26K, but I’m saving my one exercise a day to take the dc out. They wouldn’t run!!

I used to run half marathons. I’d got up to week 7 in the autumn, but was knocked off course by storm after storm - I work in flood risk managemegt, so as well as the immediate incident response there is a lot of work afterwards around inspecting and repairing defences and community engagement, which takes a lot of evenings and out of hours time. We were just starting to exhale from the November flooding, when. Ciara, Dennis and Jorge hit!

I started properly today. Yesterday the kids and dh wanted to go on a big family walk. We live on a hill so I walked them around the village, down then up the hill. It took an hour and, funnily enough, they didn't want to do it again!
I found wk1run1 very doable and feel much better for it. I walked to the bottom of the village where it is flat and followed the program exactly. I felt like I could actually run for longer on most of the runs, but I stuck to it as I tend to start too quickly and burn out. Next run is Wednesday. Feeling very 💪right now.

I have been doing it, though paused for a few days cos I was a bit poorly. Feeling better now though so might restart it later today if still feeling OK. I got to week 4. Was enjoying it so far for getting out of the house and seeing the Spring flowers etc. I was getting into running last year and got up to 8k but then had a foot injury so had to stop for ages, but physio suggested trying C25k as a way of restarting gradually. Glad you're enjoying it!
