What can I snack on that’s not sweet?

When I diet I feel that I can do meals really well.

But I can’t think of snacks that are anything other than fruit or yoghurt!

Then I end up eating too much sugar (from the fruit and yoghurt) and it’s not even filling. And I don’t even fancy sweet snacks anyway, I only eat eg an apple because I can’t think of anything else to have.

Help! What can I have for snacks that’s not crap and not fruit or yoghurt?

@RedRed9 I was just about to post about chickpeas!! Dunno about the Jack Monroe recipe, but I’ve been doing this for the last week or two. No need to skin them.
Just get any tinned chickpeas, tip them into a roasting tray with a bit of hot oil in, roast for 20 min until or until really crunchy, then sprinkle with black pepper, salt, chilli flakes, whatever you fancy.
They are amazing!!!

To get them extra crispy, blot them with kitchen roll when you take them out of the can, get them as dry as possible before roasting

I have bought copious amounts of chickpeas ready to bake. I’ll try the skins on recipe first!

Also, picked onions are a big winner at the moment - thank you!

Those of you who snack on hard boiled eggs: do you literally just eat the egg? Or do you make a little Dijon/Mayo dip or something?

Carrots
Made salads (so make three and have in tubs in the fridge)
Meat. Cold chicken/beef/prawns/salmon
Eggs

Personally i pig-out on wedges, if you save the peelings you can fry-light them and bake until crisp and gorgeous. Quiche baked without pastry is easy grab and go snacking if left in fridge. You can do it!

Forgot to say! Any kind of pickles are great snacking!

Apple sauce
Cottage cheese, maybe with rice cakes

I eat every kind of pickles. Onions, eggs, cockles, mussels, beetroot, gherkins, cabbage, sauerkraut, olives (though that's brine) etc. Usually with a small slice of cheese or some ham, maybe a chicken drum stick. I LOVE cheese and crackers so sometimes I use diet subs for crackers (salt and vinegar rice cakes with dairylea light are pretty amazing) but also sometimes a few crackers. I also like roasted fava beans, roasted soy beans, salt and pepper cashews, beef jerky, and all kinds of dips.

Carrots or red peppers with hummus
Sliced apple (skin on) with cinnamon
A bowl of mixed berries
Walnuts / almonds / brazil nuts
Boiled eggs and spinach
Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs
