Shrinking but scales not moving

I lift heavy 4 days a week, have a fairly active job, eat fairly well for the most part but the scales are not shifting Angry I’ve gone from 37” waist to 33” this year... but I’m getting frustrated because the scales aren’t cooperating. How is it even possible for the scales to not shift?! Bah.

It's because muscle weighs more than fat. Stop scale watching and pay attention to those measurements instead

Yep your turning fat into muscle. 1lb of fat is bigger than 1lb muscle

Muscle does not weigh more than fat.

A kilo of feathers weighs the same as a kilo of lead.

It’s the space they take up that differs. They have different densities.

So fat takes up more space than muscle - hence the shrinkage as you lose fat and gain muscle.

Stop weighing yourself. It means nothing.

As others have said - you’re clearly building muscle at the same rate you’re losing fat, so you’re staying the same weight.

@AmazingGreats muscle doesn’t weigh more than fat, the same weight of each just takes up a different amount of space. A kilo is a kilo, but might look different
