PCOS and weight loss

I'm looking into low calorie meal replacement diets to address my alarming weight gain over the past few years. I need to lose a lot of weight as I'm roughly 15st and under 5ft tall. I want to prevent the onset of arthritis and diabetes that's likely to come and I've had no success with traditional diets and exercise as I also have PCOS, which makes weight loss harder but not impossible. I would like to date and have a family some day and the weight and fitness level I am now makes that basically impossible.
Any advice, hints and tips would be fantastic.

Hi, I have PCOS and have really struggled in the past with diets. I’m currently trying SlimFast and it’s going well. I’ve been on it for nearly 9 weeks and am edging closer to the 2st mark.
I don’t know what other meal replacements there are out there but I personally find this one easy to follow. Good luck whatever you decide on x

@Awittyusernameishardtofind, thats amazing, can I ask where you get it from? Just I've no idea if its better to order from a store or amazon etc. I feel like I often use food as a crutch so removing the temptation and going on a liquid diet is probably going to help. Especially if combined with exercise.

At the moment I’m using their starter kits. You get a weeks supply of meals and snacks. (2 meal replacements and two of their snacks a day- you then have a piece of fruit and a 600 cal healthy meal)

I get mine at Costco where they’re currently £19.99 a box. I did get them on amazon before then. They’re a £ or two more expensive there. X

Have you considered a weight loss coaching type programme instead? I used 'our parh' which is probably cheaper than forking out for special shakes etc., and it helps you develop a sustainable approach to eating. I liked that it was holistic too; it has a focus on mindfulness, gratitude, reflection etc.

@Awittyusernameishardtofind, thanks. I've ordered two different flavours from amazon to try. My city is pretty limited with shopping options. I'm hoping that the less planning and worrying and calorie counting I'm forced to do the less likely I am to fall back into bad habits.

@cockingup, I've heard a lot of them are MLMS so I've avoided so far. I'll look into it though because the more information I have the better. I'm always concerned with 'diets' that restrict the foods that you can eat.
