2 stone to lose, cutting calories, what do you eat?

I need to lose 2 stone, but due to digestion problems I don't want to follow a particular diet, but just eat healthy food.

So could anyone tell me what they eat in a day and roughly the amount?

I know I need to cut out the crap, so chocolate, cake etc. I want to continue eating bread etc. I can't eat much dairy and tend to stick to lactose free to avoid problems.

At the moment I tend to have a late breakfast, no lunch, then dinner, my downfall is snacking in the evening. I like salads, but find it just doesn't keep long at the moment and can't shop every day.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I’m afraid it’s best to avoid the bread altogether, do you like fish?

I can't cut out bread completely, it keeps my digestion ok, but I do eat bread with lots of seeds, not white bread.

I sometimes eat white fish, I'm not keen on other fish, but find it quite expensive.

In that dreaded "evening snack time" I make either tinned tuna, beans or poached egg on toast. It feels like a proper meal but the calories are equivalent to a few fancy biscuits.

My general healthy living staples are:
Chilli (from scratch, low fat beef mince, no oil, loads of peppers and mushrooms added)
Mum's Scouse (beef, potatoes and carrots cooked slowly forever. If I'm ever on death row this is my choice for my last meal)
Salmon/chicken/pork loin with new potatoes/"chips" and veg/salad
Couscous with roasted peppers and tomatoes
Fruit - totally unlimited
Yogurt, berries (bought frozen then defrosted) and oats
Plenty of water

I lost 2.5st and maintained for a couple of years this way. Over the last year it has crept back up by 1st so now I'm back to it. I think the secret is not ever ignoring hunger. If I'm hungry, I eat. But I eat fruit and keep an easy snack on hand at all times (eg quavers, skips). If I get properly hungry I'd eat whatever is nearest so I don't let it get to that stage. And I don't buy cheese. If there's cheese in the house I simply will eat it. If your downfall is chocolate, do food shopping when you feel full and just don't buy any.

Thanks Lisa. What does a typical day look like?
