Can I see results in two weeks?

Got an event in two weeks and I've put a bit of weight on recently, not loads but it's crept on and I'm feeling bloated and flabby especially round my stomach and clothes are tight.

I'm not interested in starving myself or meal replacements, or anything too low calorie that could screw with my metabolism, with that in mind is it realistic to think I could see a difference in just two weeks? What would you recommend to try - I'm quite clueless? Thanks in advance

Probably not if you don’t want to do anything drastic, how much have u gone up to? From what?

Pinkyyy · 28/07/2019 20:08

Without starving yourself then it's impossible, losing weight the healthy way takes longer than two weeks. I'd suggest buying a new outfit that's flattering and makes you feel confident.

@Jaffacakebeast

I don't weigh myself usually but I think I've been just under 9 stone for a while and would guess I'm probably 9 and a half or so now... Maybe a gain of about 9-10lbs? Jeans and anything fitted round the waist is tight now. I'd like to feel like my stomach is a bit flatter, not expecting to drop 10lbs in two weeks (although I would like to get there in the next two months).

At the moment I eat what I like, but mostly plant based (sometimes healthy sometimes pizza and chips), snack a bit too much, don't do any weights or intense cardio, drink a glass of wine maybe 4 times a week. So there's lots of room for improvement!

Maybe healthy for 2 weeks, plenty of walking & drink loads of water might make a difference, clothes more comfortable. U haven’t got much to shift

Jupiter13 · 29/07/2019 00:05

Starvation diet works for me .... could easily shed that weight in a week

Jupiter13 · 29/07/2019 00:06

Saying that.. .I've just had a big bowl of ice cream. 😂😂😂

nanbread · 29/07/2019 09:04

@Jupiter13 is the starvation diet an actual thing or just you not really eating?

I read that before celebrities go to a red carpet event, they starve themselves for four days before.

Jupiter13 · 29/07/2019 09:13

Hi Nanbread...the starvation diet works for me...in 5 days I lost two stone. .once my teeth started to hurt I went back on food.... your stomach shrinks so you only eat smaller meals afterwards...I've just shed 10lbs in weight in just 3 days of starvation...I do go walking too. Drink plenty of water.

nanbread · 29/07/2019 12:33

I definitely don't think I could starve myself... I can barely get through a morning without getting hangry!

If you’re bloated because of eating junk food, you may be able to see a result by cutting that out, ditching the wine, drinking more water and getting a good probiotic. Bloating is a lot easier to get down than weight!

Pantolilies · 29/07/2019 14:09

Jupiter13 How much did you start with to have lost 2 stones in 5 days? Because that’s a bit unrealistic for OP who’s at most 9 and a half stone as she says.

Crazzzycat · 29/07/2019 16:31

A quick calculation shows that if you ate nothing at all you would not be losing more than a 4 lbs of fat a week.

I’ll show you:

-To lose a pound of fat, you need to burn 3500 kcals.

-If you burn 2000 kcal a day, you burn 14000 kcal in a week

-14000/3500= 4 lbs exactly

If you lose anything more than that, it’s not fat, it’s water (if you’re lucky), or muscle (or even worse) organ tissue

I really wish people would stop advocating these types of crash diets. It’s one thing to do this to yourself, but quite another to actively encourage others to do the same.

If you don’t believe me have a read of this:

Hi Pantiles, Im 5ft 11....went from 13 stone 10lbs to 11 stone 10 lbs in 5 days...I'm slim 32 waist...all my clothes are slim fit so no going back...Just got a beer and been eating Nougat this afternoon..☺️

Jupiter13 · 29/07/2019 17:06

Sorry phone autocorrected your name.

Spam88 · 29/07/2019 17:51

Without drastically reducing calories I doubt you'll see much change in two weeks, but if you've got time then the 30 day shred would definitely be good! You'll absolutely see a difference in your muscle tone with with in two weeks. Plenty of water as well.

Pantolilies · 29/07/2019 19:10

Jupiter13 Wow am speechless!

MorrisZapp · 29/07/2019 19:12

By starving yourself do you mean literally eating nothing?

Mammyloveswine · 29/07/2019 19:35

@Pantolilies I'm very skeptical... in the nicest possible way!

mooncuplanding · 29/07/2019 19:40

Go keto

If you stick to it (under 20g carbs a day) you’ll lose that bloat (water weight)
You don’t really need to calorie control and you’ll be nice and full

Check out the keto forum on reddit

Pantolilies · 29/07/2019 19:55

Mammyloveswine Yea it’s full of shite Grin

afrikat · 29/07/2019 20:00

If you do the Fast 800 diet you will lose a decent amount in 2 weeks

Alaimo · 29/07/2019 20:32

I've been dieting 'normally' (1200-1500cal/day, exercise, alcohol limited to 1 beer on Saturdays). I've only lost about 3lbs in 2 weeks, but feel less bloated, flatter stomach etc. I dont think it's visible to others, but I feel much better / more confident.

nanbread · 29/07/2019 20:39

I eat a plant based diet so imagine keto pretty hard to do?
