The 100kcal treats-a-day diet

Ok so I made this up. But I have literally just found out that ultra processed sugary foods should make up 5% of daily calories. At 2000kcal a day for women (and that's to maintain weight!) that would be 100kcal a day on sugary treats. Bloody hell. I try to eat healthily but have a huge sweet tooth, so even though I think I eat lots of fruit and especially veg each day, I definitely fall down with evening treats I'm going to see if I can actually do this IRL. Anyone with me?!

Not all women maintain eating 2000 calories....

DontFundHate · 27/06/2019 21:07

No me included! I think my daily is about 1800 so maybe it should be 90kcal... Which is even harder and doesn't have the same ring to it hah!

True!

I think 2000 calories is a pretty bad guide tbh. To maintain weight eating 2000 calories I think you'd need to be very, very active.

I'm 5'5 and to maintain a healthy weight I need to eat between 1500-1800 calories.

As for sugary snacks. I have a massively sweet tooth too, but really we shouldn't be eating those sorts of foods every day, they are treats. Boring as it is I would try to get out of the mindset of having them form part of your every day diet.

2000 calories is not a bad guide 🙄 it's an average guide which means it won't be applicable to everyone.

2000 calories is about right for me to maintain.

I have a horrific sweet tooth too OP. I make protein balls - they're lush. I don't really keep track of how many I eat but they're pretty low in cals.

Chocolate bars are the worse for eating up calories.

Try rice pudding?
Digestives? It'll only be about 3 or 4 for them.
Banana and custard?

Hi
I have recently started having a large mug of warm skimmed milk with sweetener as a 90 cal treat at bedtime.
I also have huge sweet tooth and the fillings to prove itGrin
