Best diet for belly fat / bloating

I could go with losing around a stone, but most importantly I need to reduce the size of my belly, I think it's a mixture of lack of exercise/tone, fat, and bloating.

When I was younger I was pear shape with a flat stomach, put some fat on my tummy after having DS in late 30's but after turning 50 and menopause it seems to grow every day.

Would like to lost a couple of pounds and do something about the state of my tummy before my holiday in 2 weeks. Won't be in bikini or any thing, just need to breathe in my jeans and look a bit less of a state.

Normally my best way of dieting is calorie counting but I wondered if there was anything specific to target this area?

I think any form of calorie deficit diet will work. Calorie counting certainly should. In regards to exercise a mixture of cardio strengthening and toning exercises is needed. Swimming is supposed to be good for toning, classes like aqua fit especially.

I too need to lose weight in the stomach, but from what I’ve researched you lose weight first in the place you gained it most recently. So stomach hopefully.

I find running to help with toning

Good luck xx

Low carb high fat/keto is great for reducing bloat. Have a look at the low carb bootcamp threads if it suits you. I’m an apple shape and hated my stomach but have managed to get my waist down to 29 from mid 30s

I was thinking I might need to have another try at low carb. I don't really like high fat though - can you do it medium or low fat? I like things like avocado but not cream or high fat yogurt.

Low carb should be coupled with at the least a relaxed attitude to fat because it’s the fat which is so filling. If you do low carb low fat you will be exhausted and starving.

You don’t have to stuff yourself with cream but you should choose full fat options, use real butter and not shy away from fattier cuts of meat.
I don’t really eat much cream but you should keep fat in mind so things like olives, full fat mayo, add butter to your veg, fry in butter/lard/dripping, coconut and obv avocados are fab.
