Any truth in this? I'd love that to be the case because due to some medical issues and if I'm honest some emotional eating I've put on a considerable amount of weight over the last few months. Things have settled and I'm hoping to start losing and just got me wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

Sadly not. I gained about 10lb in 3 weeks of binging after a break up and 5 weeks on and I’m losing about 1.5lb a week

The quicker it comes off, often, the longer it stays off provided you have a long term weight management plan. For example I did Michael Mosely’s 800 cal diet for a month, lost 6kg, then went to mfp and exercised on 1800 cals per day to lose the rest. I have now maintain my lower weight for years.

Personally I find the weight I might put on over a week or so eg xmas or holiday comes back off easily. Over a few months though? That’s just normal weight gain so I would expect to have to work harder to lose it. But everyone’s different of course. Good luck.

I think this tends to refer to things like holiday weight rather than steady weight put on over a course of months.
