Fage Yogurt

Is anyone able to advise whether Fage yoghurt (0% fat plain one) is a good breakfast choice (with berries)?
Is it something others with a significant amount of weight to lose would have as a brekkie choice?

I like it! It is a bit sharp, but it is thick and quite filling!

Thanks for your reply!
Other than berries, what can I add to it to sweeten it a little?!

a drizzle of honey?

I'd have the full fat version but less of it if calorie counting. Can't stand the fat free stuff it's just not the same.

I don't eat breakfast but will often have 150g of it for lunch with lots of berries - around 300kcal for the lot.

I’m with bored. I would much rather have less of the full fat one. Neither supermarket here stocks it anymore. The 0% one is horrid.

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 06/05/2019 09:12

I'm boring - I have it with berries and some muesli. I also add it smoothies.....

Nothing exciting I'm afraid!

I have it with berries and half a banana and a few bran flakes for crunch. A teaspoon of lemon curd dolloped on top is nice too.

I also go full fat (and supermarket own brand Greek style rather than Fage), I buy bags of frozen mixed berries and when organised defrost a jar full over night. Breakfast is berries, yogurt, sprinkle of seeds and some almonds. Not low calorie but highly nutritious and filling/satisfying. It's not that sweet admittedly but the fullfatness and the nuts seem to override that issue, plus you get used to it.

Thanks for all the suggestions, lemon curd sounds delicious!
Really need to lose quite a bit of weight ASAP so will stick with the 0% fat one for now but as suggested maybe add some sunflower seeds/almonds to crunch it up a bit, or some honey!
Thanks again!

I soak porridge oats in milk for a few hours, then cover with a dollop of plain yogurt (not Fage), sweeten with vanilla extract and then add berries and maybe a few nuts. It's good and filling and the only way I will eat oats as I loathe porridge.

chocolatespiders · 07/05/2019 10:47

Bored- is that all you have for lunch?

Teddybear45 · 07/05/2019 10:49

The full fat one with a handful of nuts has enough protein in it to be a complete meal. I have had it as a lunch and been fine until 6pm.

WhiteHairReally · 07/05/2019 12:35

Variant on the above, for the sweet-of-toothed but need to lose weight.

0% fat Greek yogurt, defrosted frozen berries with a splosh ( recognised dieting measure, a splosh) of no added sugar Ribena. It takes the edge of it.
