Is my daily diet crap?

Struggling to lose weight ☹️I’m 11.6 at the moment and just want to lose a stone to start with as I know I’ll feel better in myself if I do. This is my average daily diet except
For Sunday’s when I eat a meal/desert I want.

Breakfast- 1 piece of whole meal toast with butter and two boiled eggs ( spoon of brown sauce)

Dinner- cabbage & bacon with swede & carrot mash ( normally in a small plastic container) or I’ll have soup

Snack- green smoothie of spinach banana and mango chunks.

Tea- either fish/chicken/pasta with a salad on the side or sweet potato fries and baked beans.

I will normally snack at night either a few bits of chocolate or a yoghurt. Is that where I’m going wrong? In the day I will sometimes eat a yoghurt or fruit if I’m hungry. Will I start to lose it I keep on? Any tweaks/advice appreciated!

I think with diets, extremes away from what you like and are used to just won't be kept at. Its better to change slowly, and incorporate habits you can stick to long term

ie: if you like and enjoy pasta, just try a portion 3/4 size what you would have previously, and add a side of spinach for example so your plate looks as full, plus the extra vitamins you want.

If you want some chocolate one day, have a piece after a slightly smaller lunch.

Going from eating anything, to banning everything leads to people thinking its naughty to eat a piece of cake on their birthday. Just eat a regular sized piece, and a slightly smaller portion of next meal

The problem is op, even the foods you are listing as things that are 'healthy' are not eg the cuppa soups etc as it's all so processed and not offering all the nutrients you need so you'll still feel hungry and then overeat.
Watch Forks over Knives on Netflix - it changed my life. I don't count calories at all and currently in 6 weeks I'm 24lbs lighter and never felt better. Instead of just trying to lose weight, try and be healthy and the weight loss will be a by product of that.

@eurgh thanks to your post I've just watched Forks Over Knives - it's amazing!

I font eat much meat but I do eat a lot of dairy so need to change.

Do you have any books or websites you can recommend for recipes/inspiration?

Thank you for the recommendation - OP, if you haven't, watch this!

@Ivegotthree
Other Netflix docs I found really interesting was 'What the Health' and 'Cowspiracy'
Bookswise dorks over Knives have a book and cook book. Also, the China Study and Whole food for life are good reads. All factual and science and evidence based so fantastic. We have all the information we have to put it into practice. But I find a lot of people want to lose weight but don't care about the heath side of it all. You can be skinny as anything and still have heart attack inducing visceral fat

And lol not dorks over knives 😂
A quick google will also bring up tons of websites that are helpful x
