I've finally got dh to diet, Yippee.

He's going low-fat, nothing over 4% fat (which has worked for him before). But he's already getting ratty with eating plain grilled/steamed/boiled stuff. Any recipes or book suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Easy. Rosemary Conley does a book called "The red wine diet" which is aimed at blokes and is meant to ease the pain a little

M&S do a Count on Us Recipe book which has some really lovely recipes in it - my fave: chicken breasts stuffed with mushroom stuffing on a bed of roasted butternut squash....mmm

sounds interesting. He has also forsworn alcohol, which is adding to his misery. I get the brunt of his moaning of course.

thing is he likes to eat loads, I CANNOT educate him to eat smaller portions of stuff, which is how I lost loads earlier this year (while he was working down south Mon-Fri)

And he needs to lose loads. I don't know how much, he won't tell me what he weighs. He really is fat bloke tho'.

Australian Women's Weekly do really nice recipe books, and there are several that are low fat here . You can usually find books from the series in high street bookshops too. Give him plenty of veg to fill up on, and things like rice noodles (the kind that you use in Pad Thai) are very filling, you can have a huge portion for very few calories. The Weight Watchers website has quite a good recipe for Pad Thai and it's very low fat.

Ainsley Harriott's Low Fat Meals in Minutes or his new Meals in Minutes book that contains a fair amount of low fat meals. Good on your DH for making a start!

Cheers Demented. Yes it's good he's made a start, but it has taken a fair amount of nagging by me to get him there!
That's why I want to find nice recipes to encourage him
