I’ve cut out some carbs from my diet and my appetite has gone weird

I’ve cut out grains, pasta and potatoes and I’ve suddenly got no appetite. It’s so weird as no food appeals to me. I’ve been eating veg, pulses and a bit of chicken or fish, and fruit but it just feels like a chore to eat.
I feel really off food. On the one hand it’s great as I’m sure I’ll lose weight like this but on the other, I feel a bit sick of food and I don’t feel like eating anything.
It’s only been 3 days so I’m hoping it will sort itself out.
Has anyone gone through this?

It could be more stable blood sugar. When I do this I don’t think about food between meals and don’t feel that urgent hunger anymore

Yep. When I cut out grains and sugars, suddenly I don't fancy eating much. But plant based foods have lots of fibre to fill you up and proteins burn much slower too.

This just proves how evil carbs/sugar truly is. I follow a low carb diet & I don't feel hungry that often. Your body is just stabilising itself.

It’s good to hear it’s normal. Thanks. I’m going to try to keep this up.

It's great, isn't it? Grin

That's right. Your appetite hasn't gone weird. It has gone normal. Gone are the cravings and back is real hunger which you won't experience very often.

I was surprised when I did the same as you OP. I thought by cutting down carbs I would crave them like crazy, and that getting used to not having them would be a chore. Instead it was liberating Smile
