From my personal experiences over the years weather spoons or known as "spoons" is a personal fav of the kids and I, the prices are cheap and the meals are of good size so that it will fill them up most of the day ;).

i looked at the calories and i was on the verge of crying after how nice the food t'was, however the sugar and salt levels are low and fats are moderately low.

It has become a weekly event so taking away the Saturday will take away more time to spend with the kids do i go for a more healthy option or keep going spoons?? #living life

There are definitely healthier options at Wetherspoons. Alternatively, make lunch at home / picnic, then out as a family for the afternoon somewhere.

The menu has calorie info on every item and there are some great low calorie options. I recommend Spoons!

good idea!! @TulipsInbloom1

a picnic in winter may be a bit chilly however

It's processed crap. Look for somewhere that actually makes their own food, and don't let your kids grow up thinking this is what counts as good food.

When I'm not being a fat guzzling pig I like their chicken and pepper skewers. Comes with hot sauce (to me anyway!) on the side. Just chunks of chicken and veg. They're lovely and quite filling.

There are lower calorie options, but adding any extras makes the calories shoot up (e. g. chicken on the noodles), and the vast majority of their food is very high in calories. Many meals there easily give me more calories than I need in a whole day, and that's before I've had a pint with it.

I go quite a lot because it's cheap and convenient with a small child, but I just get us both the soup for lunch now, then my kid plays with his lego while I have a tea and a free refill.
