Dealing with being cold and hunry

My diet will be going OK and then I'll feel cold and/or hungry and go for the stodge at the work canteen. I always tell myself it'll be fine as I'll have something light for dinner, but this doesn't work obviously.
How can I resist this kind of food when I'm cold?
I can't control the temperature in the office and I'm already wearing as many layers as I can get away with.

Thanks aint. As I mentioned, I'm already drinking tea all day and wearing thermals. Fleece and gilet wouldn't be in the dress code.
I also don't have a problem with being too hungry by lunchtime. My problem is feeling too cold, at least it was last week.

Mrsdweinter - Thyroid was tested a while ago and came back 'normal' although people on here told me it wasn't proof that my thyroid is OK. I can't go back to the GP to ask for a better test as the GP clearly believes there's no problem, so the only option would be to pay for my own test I think.
When I got tested I was extremely tired for a few weeks after giving blood. I think the tiredness I have now is normal life tiredness, though I do seem to have less energy than most other people, even since going to the gym.

I definitely feel colder when I'm tired, and also make poorer choices when I'm tired. If you can batch cook similar food to the kind of thing you crave when cold and tired and bring it in to heat up. Also check the quality of your thermals. M&S do thinner but warmer stuff (think it's called heatgen) Good luck (& if you find your weightloss mojo, pass some my direction Grin )

Office full of blokes? There’s been stuff in the news recently about how many workplaces are heated to a temperature which suits men and not women.

Gwenhwyfar · 14/11/2018 22:41

Hope - the people who control the heating for the whole building are men. The building is supposed to be 'green' and 'smart'. There are plenty of warm women in my office though, one or two of those people who are always hot and a few who are 'at that stage in life'.
There used to be three of us who suffered a lot and we did get some progress by complaining together, but one of those is on leave and the other will be leaving soon, so I don't know if I'll find new allies.
Anyway, as I said it's been warmer this week and I've been eating better.

That’s a shame. I feel your pain!
