Has anyone successfully overcame binge eating? Whenever I'm stressed I eat sad I eat bored I eat. I've been trying to diet but I will last a week then undo all my hard work by stuffing my face. I hate how overweight I've became but I eat more because I hate myself. I just want to stick to a healthy eating plan, no miracles just steady weight loss without the blow outs.

I feel your pain. It's so hard isn't it?

I have been trying so hard to cut all the crap out of my diet. I've been using MyFitnessPal and trying to stick to 1500 calories a day and trying to walk more and exercise where I can.

When I have been craving something sweet I have either had an apple, small handful of almonds or a sugarfree aldi butterscotch.

It's early days - planning out what I can eat each day is certainly helping me. Something has clicked and I just hope it lasts!! I've been doing internet shops and avoiding putting anything that I could binge on in there.

Putting up a picture I hate of myself in the kitchen seems to help too.

Hope you get some more tips and ideas.

I'm the same ,nightmare I am..every week I start a new diet..tomorrow I start again.

The only thing that stops it is giving up sugar I found.

I am just the same. I have recently started seeing a life coach about it. She has identified the fact that I just don't like myself very much and until I do it's never going to get any better. She has suggested that I need to start congratulating myself for small wins to talk to myself in a more positive way. Also to write down what I eat for a week and identify the time, place and emotion I am feeling to identify a pattern.

You need to find something else to deal with those emotions that cause you to binge. Exercise is an excellent replacement. Can you go for a walk whenever you find yourself reaching for the cupboards? Are you always at home when you binge? If so, rigourously plan your shopping for every meal so you are not buying "treats" and then they are not easy to grab. It is all about breaking the habit which isn't an overnight process, but it is doable.

I’m similar but what I find helps me is just to stay busy.
Plan your meals and plan stuff to do between meals.
I usually plan a walk and chores between breakfast and lunch.
Get strict about times as well. Give yourself times for your meals and do not eat anything at any other time.
Remember that you’re meant to be hungry by your next meal and you don’t have to eat as soon as you feel peckish.

Try reading brain over binge - it's quite cheap on amazon.
