Using this as abit of an online journal for myself.
I have put on over a stone since Christmas.
The main problem is wine. I've got into a bad habit or drinking a couple of glasses every night. Not to sure why but highly stressed job and 2 crazy kids. Plus anxiety seems to have crept in past couple of years for which I take sertraline for.
So here's the plan derived from a mix of body coach, a PT friend and reading hours of advice online I've picked out the bits that will work for me...

First 30 days
- No alcohol
- 3 square meals a day - no snacking
- no diet drinks
- water or coffee with almond milk only.
Gym 4-5 times a week at least 3 or those sessions need to be HITT. Other 2 to concentrate on core strength and stretching.
To do a 10 min meditation each day
No phone after 10pm

Forgot to add I'm doing 16:8, works really well for me
AdaArdor · 23/06/2018 11:05
Good luck! I've been doing 16:8 since February and I really like it, makes it much easier for me to control my intake than three meals a day, and I was always starving within 2 hours of breakfast anyway. Can't imagine going back to be honest.
If you're on anxiety medication, I think kicking the booze will be great; it's a depressant so will kick your anxiety up a notch. Give it a week of cold turkey to feel absolutely shit, but after that, you should start to see some effects!
What do you use for meditation? I played with the headspace app for a little bit, but also just like some random nature sounds! They have some quite nice stuff on Spotify if you use that
flippinthebird · 23/06/2018 11:38
Oh thanks ada, yes I have been playing with headspace but only managing once or twice a week which isn't enough. Must admit I find it so hard to concentrate on nothing! Tried Calm app but didn't connect with it as much.
I have thought about the alcohol and anxiety before. It's a viscous circle! X

First day today:-
3 meals
Jacket potato with tuna
Chicken breast with asparagus and brown rice
Overnight oats with seeds and berries
20 min run
20 min bike
But mainly no alcohol!!! Feeling good but wide awake 😬
Yay!
flippinthebird · 25/06/2018 22:58
Weight 9.9
Forgot to meditate!!!
flippinthebird · 26/06/2018 23:00
So hungry and thought about wine a lot tonight
Stuck to eating plan
Chicken wrap
Salmon, potato and veg
Overnight oats for snack
1300kcl
Good 5k run and 2m bike.
I'm frickin starving and wide awake. Is this the alcohol withdrawal?
Up at 5 for the gym and can't sleep!! Argh.
Hoping this feeling is just my body adapting because I can't manage feeling this deprived for another 28 days

You're eating loads of carbs which won't help with feeling starving an hour or two later. Have you thought about more protein, more good fat, much less carbs and a healthy amount of fruit and veg? The extra protein and fat will help you feel much fuller.
