Help me get started on a new way of eating

Ok, it's got to a stupid point where I need to kick myself in my own sizeable arse and sort out what I eat. I'm gaining weight, I'm having to size up my clothes, and I really need to lose 40kg in order to be in the healthy zone.

I have PCOS, so the best dietary change for me would be to drop the carbs as much as possible. However, I have a toddler and the majority of what he eats is carbs (I'm working on this!!!)

I generally do one big online grocery shop at the beginning of the month with all the non-perishables, as much of the larder food, frozen or freezables etc, then I have a veggie box weekly which brings some fruit and veg. I don't tend to buy much meat, although like the idea of trying out the miracle chicken you roast on a Sunday and then live off for the rest of the week

I need to change the big monthly shop so it is more geared toward feeding one adult on a low carb and one toddler. I know that when I sit down to do the big shop I'll struggle to get out of buying my usual things, so I'm pleading with you lovely MN'ers - please give me all the suggestions of what you think I should be buying. Anything goes; I just need inspiration for what to put into my shopping basket.

Huge thanks (but soon to be slimmer!)

eggs, cream, meat, green veg, cheese, nuts, mayo, mushrooms, butter, salad, raspberries, fizzy water, crustless quiche - there's a few items for starters!

Thanks!

I'm going through the Bootcamp recipes thread;
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/low_carb_bootcamp/1447493-Bootcamp-Recipe-Thread

I'm really going to have to retrain my tastebuds. I'm just realising how fussy I've become; I'm not a fan of eggs, so have generally avoided quiche, and anything where eggs are served on their own - i.e. scrambled, poached, fried etc.

I'm definitely going to get some mixed nuts to portion out and snack on (portion size is a key thing I need to work on, so will have to make sure I'm not swapping one form of over eating for another.

Broccoli/cauliflower cheese would work for a weekend dinner as I can do a small amount of pasta for the toddler, or sweet potato fries and fish fingers, and not have to do two separate meals.

(Sorry - waffling a bit, but I'll come back to here next month when putting together my shopping list!)
