If you're short on time, how do you lose weight?

I'm struggling to shift baby weight (1yr old) and want to get serious about a healthier lifestyle in general rather than diet.

My schedule:
Working from 7.30-5
Baby bedtime etc until 7pm
More work at home 2/3 nights per week until 9.30pm

I'm on my feet most of the day at work but somehow not reaching 10,000 steps per day.

I mostly eat home cooked, natural foods. 5/7 evening meals are low carb. Breakfast is oat based cereal bar, salad for lunch. But I am a foodie so weekend meals are often high fat meat/cheese based plus puddings.

I'm only 5,2 so feel huge at the moment. Can anyone offer advice? What should I focus on first?

Stop snacking and smaller portions at designated meal times. If you're eating real food already you don't need any extra time to lose weight IMO (although swap the cereal bar for porridge if you can)

Breakfast is at work whilst I'm on the move, hence the cereal bar. Only occasional snacks - 90% of the time it's fruit. I think weekends are the big sticking point. You're right on portions, I will try smaller plates.

When I was on mat leave it was so easy to build exercise into my day, even if it was just walking. Now I'm out of the house 7-5.30 I find it impossible to fit in except for weekends.
