Major weight loss success stories?

I've ballooned up and down all my life, and currently find myself with a BMI of 41. It would take a loss of 8 stone to get me in to the healthy BMI range.

Has anyone lost anywhere near this? I desperately want to do something- I have a baby and I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up when he's a toddler / will embarrass him at the school gate / will die young. But it feels like such a big amount to lose that I'm scared to try (I know this is ridiculous). Any success stories and advice would help me get started!

This thread is so inspiring. What’s the LCHF bootcamp ilovecherries? I am tall but size 22 and still have just over 6 stone to loose to get to a healthy BMI. I really find it hard getting motivated. I have been trying to do 10,000 steps recently using my phone but I am unsure how accurate it is so thinking about investing in some sort of Fitbit) the wine and the snacks keep calling me on an evening) today we (myself and my DH) have just joined a local health club so fingers crossed we can get into gear get motivated, loose some weight and feel healthier.

HellsBells the next bootcamp starts in two weeks. Here's the pre bootcamp thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/low_carb_bootcamp/3232895-May-2018-Low-Carb-Bootcamp

With regard to loose skin, I started off a size 22, I'm currently a 12. I'm also 60, so post menopausal (and I have no thyroid, so didn't have much going for me with regard to weight loss!). My skin has been remarkably forgiving. I have some sagging at the tops of my inner thighs and on my bum, but otherwise it really is not bad at all. Boobs, face and arms are all holding up well, stomach is as good as it can be given pregnancies, abdominal surgeries etc in the past. Some of that will be genetic luck, the rest will be down to very steady weight loss - rarely more than 1.5 lbs a week, sometimes less, plus I think as it's a high nutrient diet (masses of green veg and olive oil plus moderate protein), it's good for your skin anyway. My skin does itch as I loose fat from underneath it, so I'm am going through tubs of E45.

Thanks ilovecherries that’s inspiring also an underactive thyroid. I will definitely have a look at that I am currently looking for plus size leggings!!!, ordering another sports bra (as I only have one of each) and am buying 4 new big towels (just from Morrison’s), some more sports socks, a pack of decent knickers and some more toiletries so I have no excuse for faffing about and not going. We have our inductions tonight and I was going to have a swim this morning as I’m off today but house a complete tip, DD has forgotten her lunch card and I’m at the dentist so I have to drop that off so will work on getting organised so no excuses the rest of the week.
I also get itchy skin especially this time of year but I keep getting told my liver function test is high (which they are monitoring) and this could also lead to itchy skin.

Thank you so much. I'm very ordinary; the purpose of the photos was to show that anyone can do it. It did take me a long time but, on the plus side, I haven't been left with any saggy skin Blush

Good luck to everyone on the journey Smile
