Keto- how do you track your macros?

I'm starting the ketogenic diet. I've been low carving for years (type1 diabetic) but the carbs have crept back in and I've gained 5 stone in 5 years after marriage breakdown.
I need my life back!

How do you track the macros? My fitness Pal isn't always accurate with amount of fat and protein or has this changed since I last looked?

I know from low carving that I will need to be v v v low carb to hit ketosis. I'm v lucky in that I need to be well below 20g Hmm a day. I suppose this will be gone with my cups of tea in the morning. Any tips on reducing carbs in milk and cheese?

Also, any success stories? I've decided this is it! Off to supermarket so any suggestions to go on the shopping list would be much appreciated.

I use mfp. I find it accurate. I scan the bar codes. 20g a day?! Not much. I've been doing this for 3 days. 4 days ago my neurologist recommended it for my daily migraines. My daily carb intake has been about 25g. No higher. The keto sticks are now registering low keto. I'm going tomorrow there'll be more ketones.
Tea - I've tried it with 10g whipped cream. It tastes fine. It's for the lowest carb and highest fat of the others I've tried (whole milk, single cream). Get macadamia nuts, la vie fizzy pop, vanilla whey powder, coconut milk, desiccated coconut, Philly, butter...

You can track on MFP but you have to play with the settings a bit so that it gets the macro balance right. If you rate really going for a keto diet then have a look at the diet doctor website and their recipe plans - in my experience going keto is quite hard l, I manage moderate to low carb mostly. And no milk!
