Losing weight - losing confidence?

I've recently lost a good amount of weight (2 1/2 stone) and I'm carrying on eating and exercising correctly to lose that last half a stone.

My problem is, I've become really self conscious when I'm exercising. If I'm doing a burpee or mountain climber, I get really panicky that my t-shirt is riding up and people can see my stomach and back. It's enough for me to stop. When I first started exercising this never bothered me. I feel I've lost my confidence the more weight I've lost, which seems counter intuitive. Is this a thing? Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you become flabbier with weight loss? Doing weights helped me as it toned me up

I don't think so - but perhaps my stomach is looking bigger (my problem are) because the rest of me is shrinking? I am doing a mixture of weights, strength and cardio. I'll keep it up. How long did it take you to notice Friedgreen?

Ah ok. Yes the tummy is often the last place where the fat departs. Work on core strengthening - pilates and weights will help with this. Just need to keep going really. I’m pear shaped and so my hips / bum / thighswere the last place I lost my weight from. Took me nearly 6 months to lose that last dress size.

I know what you mean. You do however have to develop the mentality of I am here to get fit and I don't care what you think. When I do the odd bit of exercise, I don't care what people think of the fat sweaty mess that I am. I am doing this for me and no one else. It takes a while to get into that mindset but when you are there it does help somewhat

Good attitude fromtheshires and one I'll adopt in the future Smile

Not sure if this applies to you but often bigger people feel a bit “invisible” like nobody would even notice them enough to judge them.

Whereas if you’re now smaller but not perfect (who is?) you may be feeling more like people are looking at you and judging??
