The NHS in my county has a separate service that deals with well-being and lifestyle. You do a self assessment and then get referred on to services that can help you.
I did the self assessment today and as my BMI is 44 I unsurprisingly was told my focus should be on weight loss and was given a list of services that I could access via the NHS (free of charge).
WW and Slimming World were on the list (so was sugar me down) there were also a few local independent options. I was at work so I had a quick look at the options and selected the well-being and weight loss centre in the town where I work.
The information given was that I would get a individual personalised meal plan, and there are small group meetings plus one-to-one support. My first appointment is tomorrow.
I have now had a more thorough look at the website for the centre and have come across a few references to milkshakes and Herbalife.
My heart sank, i have always associated Herbalife with a MLM scheme or scam. I am now expecting to go tomorrow and get a sales pitch of someone trying to sell me Herbalife products
But I have just realised that I don't know where the negative view I have came from - Surely the NHS would not endorse it and refer people there if it was a scam.
Is Herbalife just another food replacement plan like Lighter Life or is it more sinister? (I don't really mean sinister but I can't think of a better word).
Any information about Herbalife would be appreciated.
