Whole 30

I have searched for a whole 30 topic and cannot find one that isn't at least a year old so hopefully I'm not duplicating anything.

I am intrigued by this Whole 30 business. I am trying to find something with structure and rules to keep me on track and give me a bit of a reset. I have done slimming world well in the past but I honestly don't want to be eating that much low fat processed food. With a weaning DD in the house I don't want to have to buy things twice.

Has anyone done it with success? Is the book necessary? Any tips or tricks?

Also if anyone is planning on starting for September I'd be up for a support thread Grin

I did one last year, lost a stone and felt brilliant. I really should do another - it's just finding a suitable 30 day period and I don't think September will be it, too many commitments already.

You don't need the book because in essence it is really simple and all the info you really need is online. However, I found the book quite inspiring in an American way. You can follow the programme, recipes and Melissa on Instagram.

I really missed dairy more than anything, even the booze. Oh and I missed miso. Miso butter is my go-to method for making eating mountains of green veg a pleasure rather than a chore. I am a real-food devotee and love to cook, but I found I had to plan and make every single thing I put in my mouth for the whole month as practically no prepared foods (even vaguely ingredienty stuff like mustard or curry pastes) are often non-compliant.

I would recommend it though, it had a really positive effect on me for ages afterwards and even now I don't drink as much or eat as many beige carbs or sugar.

Unexpectedbaby I did it a couple of times and find it really good for my health. Was thinking about doing it again (doing low carb high fat diet and somehow too much dairy gets consumed so will have to be strict)
Happy to start on 9th September (away with work till then)
I didn't get the book, just checked online what I should eat and followed that
