Does anyone else find that other people are always trying to get them to eat stuff (usually junk)?

It's something I've noticed since I stopped overeating and basically eating loads of sugar...like people I work with are always trying to get me to eat doughnuts/biscuits when I don't want them and they get all offended when you say you're not hungry/don't fancy it/whatever.

They're not the kind of thing I would choose to eat anyway, I'd rather make my own cake if I'm going to eat cake but I just find it odd.

Same with family; my DF is obsessed with cake and eats cake sometimes more than once a day. He seems to find it odd when I don't want some. And my DSM is constantly offering food even after we've just eaten a massive dinner. They just keep asking after I've said no.

I wish people would just take no for an answer. I find it similar to when people try and make you drink more alcohol tbh; I've had similar with that. I really like drinking but I don't like being drunk so I'll stop after a couple (sometimes more!) but then people just buy you more drinks and try and kind of guilt you into drinking them IYKWIM.

I'm not trying to be all holier than thou and I enjoy an occasional binge as much as the next person but I just don't like being told what to do I guess! I like to decide what I eat/drink and when.

Anyone else found this?

They're doing it because you starting to make healthy changes makes them feel bad about themselves. Therefore they try & sabotage you. It's their problem, not yours! Just keep saying no and ask them to stop asking!

Well done OP. To me it sounds like you're surrounded by overweight and unhealthy eaters. It isn't normal to push cake and snacks or eat after a large meal. Now you've made changes it probably does shame them to a certain extent. My learning with (successful) weight loss is that those who are overweight are in denial about their calorie intake until they notice others (who are slimmer) saying no

Yes I have noticed a certain amount of denial from ppl, that is true mrsfen....and these are the ppl who always wonder why they're gaining/not losing.
