I'm fat, trying to lose weight and the fat free yoghurt I've tried so far taste like spur cream.

Can anyone recommend a nice , plain yoghurt please?

Have full fat!

If you are just having yoghurt and fruit then have a full fat yoghurt. Fat free yoghurt and fruit won't keep you full for long, as the calories are almost all from sugar.
Yeo valley natural yoghurt is nice.

Low fat dairy is a bit of a red herring because there are good things about the fat in dairy, not least that it is a good source of protein and will help keep you from feeling hungry. Also your body can better absorb the calcium when the fat hasn't been removed.

I was surprised to find that when I switched from low fat dairy to full fat milk and yoghurt that my weight actually stabilised!

A few chopped nuts on top, yummy!

SarahJonesS · 13/08/2017 09:10

Low fat yogurt is full of sugar.

Change to full fat Greek yoghurt, add fruit and some chopped nuts. Maybe a squirt of honey to take the edge off the sour taste.

Have a smaller portion of full fat Greek yoghurt instead of fat free. Lidl do a really nice one and Lancashire farms (I bought it at Morrison's, I don't know if it's sold elsewhere).

Natural Greek yogurt is far tastier than plain natural.
I often have fruit and yogurt for breakfast....along with a 3 egg omelette! It keeps me going for hours due to the protein (I'm doing slimming world)

Former chubster here. Low fat anything is rubbish. Go full fat but eat less of it. I'd also recommend something like overnight oats so you get the fruit and yoghurt but the oats in there will keep you going. I also ate/eat a lot of eggs for breakfast.

PlaymobilPirate · 13/08/2017 09:53

Thanks everyone - I'm already a fan of overnight oats (I use muller lights for that)

Will switch to full fat - were getting a new kitchen and I want to use it as a reason to change the way I eat. Our old / current one is disgusting and means we do very little cooking / food prep in it

I'm going to have workbenches for the first time in 4 years so am already planning beautuful storage jars full of oats / chopped nuts! 🤣
