Is this diet OK?

I'm starting/have started a new eating regime, cutting out all rubbish. I have 3 stone to lose. I think due to hormone treatment i've had recently i've been unable to shift anything so I am trying this. I did gym and a balanced diet and more walking for 3 weeks but i didn't shift anything.

I just want to know if i'm getting everything I need or if it's too much, ingredients listed in highest % to lowest, unsure of calorie content :-)

Breakfast:

Smoothie (480ml)

  • frozen fruit/veg (mostly fruit)
  • water
  • milk
  • oats

Lunch

Salad

  • Baby leaves lettuce assortment
-Vegetables (These change but includes 3 of: cucumber, spring onion, tomato, green olives, avocado)
  • Protein (Flavoured chicken or ham)
  • Tablespoon of full fat mayo

Dinner

  • Lots of different coloured veg
  • 1 portion of protein

Snacks/liquid:
1-2 portions fresh fruit
1 Yogurt
2 cups of decaff tea with 1 teaspoon of sugar each
1 pint of water

That's it for a day, thanks!

You don't mention any quantities nor calories.
I would suggest counting your calorie allowance for losing weight and then counting the calories in the foods you eat. You can eat healthily but too much in terms of quantity.

Ok thank you. I have worked out the calorie amounts.

Breakfast: 269kcal
Lunch: 163kcal
Fruit snacks: 25-150kcal
Yoghurt: 61kcal
Tea: 30kcal
Dinner: 400kcal (Changed to 2 portions of protein - meat)

I am mostly concerned about not having all the right nutrients in this diet.

I'd say more water is needed

MoosicalDaisy · 14/06/2017 15:07

Thanks. I have always struggled with drinking. So 1 pint of water is 1 pint more than what i used to have!
