Not weight LOSS, but need advice...

Since having DS my weight has steadily dropped. I started 11st 5oz My aim was to be 10st 4 (5'6'', large of nork) - it was about right for my frame if a little slim perhaps.

Was breastfeeding until a few weeks ago and I think a combination of that, caring for 2 instead of one, lack of sleep, stress and school runs made the weight fall off.

I started skipping lunch (through sheer busy, not "I can't eat I will be a house"), and my dinner portions got smaller because I just didn't want to eat so much anymore.

I am now down to 9st 13 and looking too thin - my cheeks are looking gaunt, my jeans are hanging off me (even some of the 10s ) - but tummy is still round but that is a muscles thing.

I don't want to lose any more weight - Ideally I would get back to around the 10 4 stage and maintain it, but I don't know how.

I have been skipping lunch for so long now that I just don't have the appetite any more for anything much, and even by evening meal I don't feel like eating a great deal a lot of the time.

I normally have a milky coffee and toast for breakfast after the school run (full fat milk, butter etc).

Please can someone give me some tips for putting a little bit of weight back on healthily, and then how to maintain it as I don't want to go right back up, just that little to make me slim but healthy looking!!

Sorry... that was a bit of an essay

Do some exercise in the morning and then you will have an appetite for lunch.

Flamesparrow · 19/03/2007 16:26

Apart from the walk to/from school I don't have time - DS sleeps most of the morning so I have to spend that time working.

Do you mean sedentary work or housework?
And btw, what's nork?

MrsSpoon · 19/03/2007 20:31

Are you Victoria Beckham?

IMO you need to make the time to eat (healthy stuff) and exercise.

... also , why do weight falling off problems never happen to me?

3andnomore · 19/03/2007 20:43

Mrs Spoon...I also would love it when the weight would just drop off me...and I would love to be under 10 st (also 5'6...but hardly any norks ~those are Breasts/Boobs Elasticwoman~!

As for putting weight on healthily....Cereal with full fat milk, full fat yoghurts, lots of Bananas, Avocados maybe....!
If you feel you don't like much at the mainmeals, make time for lots of snacks!

Flamesparrow · 19/03/2007 20:49

Thank you - the work is sedentary at computer.

I never thought that weight falling off would be an issue for me either!!! This time last year I was wanting to lose it.

EW - norks are breasts.

I will stock up the next food order with more snacky weight putting on-y foods.

I like fruit - which I know isn't helping things! I don't like avacados... anyone know which fruits are more weight gainey than others?

Do you like nuts? Little explosive parcels of calories, god love 'em. A friend of mine had a similar problem to this and went to see a nutritionist, who essentially told her to pour olive oil over her meals. (There may have been more to it than that, but afraid I was only half listening at the time...)

3andnomore · 19/03/2007 20:55

well Banana is very high in carbohydrates, and please, keep eating fruit, it is good for you!
Can't think of any other fruit that is known as a weight putter onner...saying that, Banana is only gonna do it, if you eat a fair bit, lol!

3andnomore · 19/03/2007 20:56

Oh yes, natural Nuts...healthy snack, but very calorific...good thinking rowan!
Oh and dried fruits are still healthy, but more calorific then fresh fruit!

Flamesparrow · 19/03/2007 20:56

Oooooooooooooh NUTS!!! I've stopped breastfeeding

Thanks for explaining norks every one.

Can I recommend fruit and nut snackpacks which are yummy and don't have added salt which would dehydrate you.

What about milkshake type drinks? Or hot chocolate when it's cold?
