Schneebly you are me aren't you? I am on Citalopram too (farking marvellous stuff imho) and despite a good loss recently I am still heavier than I was when I was 9 months pg

Good luck with the weigh ins and the counselling. You are in good company here we all know exactly how you feel.

Nice to see you MrsJC - your ds looks and sounds almost edible (is that a bad thing to say on this thread ). Well done on the weight gain/weight loss combo. Just remember not to overdose on toast and marmalade whilst bfing and you'll be fine. Sorry to hear about the PND hopefully you've caught it early enough to stop it in its tracks.

Well I had my weighin last night and as expected I've gained 2½ stone - not nearly as bad as the gain I had last time I had a bad week so I am taking comfort in that!

Seriously back on the wagon today. Might have to check out this WLR thing as I lose track of what I have eaten each day quite easily.

oh he's lovely Scheebly (apart from the hour he was up screaming at 1am this morning - little treasure)

Part of my overeating at the moment is tiredness - if I'm organised I make food in advance and take it for work, and its ready for me when I get home, but because I'm tired I've been buying ready made stuff which is not as satisfying and far more calories. Need to get that sorted and the rest hopefully will follow.

Cheesy - I'm guessing that you put on 2.5 POUNDS not STONE

oops

that would be going some, even for my legendary chocolate eating and beer swilling capabilities

cheesyfeet. Sue, what was up with DS, do you know? Or just one of those unexplained things that are sent to try us?

dd woke for no reason a couple of nights ago and screamed blue murder. She ended up in bed with me and poor dh got to spend the night in her bed surrounded by teddies and dummies

Makes you feel crap the next day doesn't it? And hungry

no idea Jackie - he had had a dreadful cough but that seemed much better yesterday. He serttled down when I went into the room and no matter how asleep he seemed to be, he screamed when I left (tiny undiscernable creaking of floorboard obviously). He ended up in my bed, which helped in the short term but meant he was up at 5.30am as it gets much lighter in there. He seemed on good form this morning (though tired ) so just think it was one of those things.

You know sometimes you cope quite well with the early morning screaming and sometimes you don;t? Well yesterday was a "don't"! Fell asleep on the tube on the way into work

Oh dear - poor you. Where did you end up? I had a colleague who once did that going home (in London) and ended up in Brighton. Hopefully you didn't end up quite that far away, though.

I think sick kids are one of the worst things for making you put on weight. I hope all yours get better soon: mine are back at school, hooray. Hi Schneebly, lovely to see you again! I do like Weightlossresources - I only found out about it through BigMoFos. I think you have to spend some time at first learning the quick ways to do stuff, then it's not too time-consuming. I like the fact that it seems to have every branded food product imaginable; and that if you enter your exercise, you get masses more calories to eat On the downside, the calorie allocation they give you to lose weight as you want seems a bit measley, but maybe that's just fact. Anyway, as long as I move a bit, the total target isn't too bad.

How frustrating - they do save their best behaviour for others, often, and it can drive me potty. But lovely that they're having a good time together.

Why, Sue? What's that all about?

Report
suejonez · 22/03/2007 07:17

apparently he is "too old" to be bothered with babies because they are "hard work". He's 47 not 77 and when I think of all the things I have put myself out for his children who are now teengaers when I was young and childless it makes me . Not sure exactly what he thinks he is going to do that is such hard work - he's never lifetd a finger before.

Sue what a bloody nerve your db has!!What does your mum think of it?

Have really struggled with my eating this week again. My wedding dress has been taken in and the girl altering it said to try and not lose anymore before the wedding if i can.So i am sure i have gone too far the other way and put on

We chose our wedding rings on Monday tho so that was fun Everything else is organised so will try and chill now and enjoy my healthy food and get back to the gym.

Anyhoo have a good day all. Will torture myself till the weigh in tonight.

Tis strange without WWB,hope she returns soon.

Is he envious of your life, Sue? Can't believe he's being so unsupportive, given what you've been through

I have put on two pounds since last weigh-in, which I expected due to a depressing weigh-in on Sunday at which I'd put on 3 pounds since the previous Thurs, hence (partly) drastic action strict Atkins for the past two days. Sigh. Nonetheless, am wearing new Bravissimo sports bra, which is making me feel very fit

no he's not jealous I don;t think, just being a slefish git. He thinks that all those plays I went to see his girls in were because I am such a huge fan of amateur (in the truest sense of teh word!) dramatics not becuase I thought it was nice for them to have people come and see them.

He has become an old fogey before his time - anything that puts him out is too much trouble.

He doesn't even work, so he can't say he's using up precious spare time that he's so short of. Think he's just too selfish to think I (and my mum) might be hurt by his attitude.

Boils down to "Can't be bothered, call me when he's older"

Sue, how I am for you - do you know what the rest of his family (wife and children) think about this? What did your mum think, too - she must be pretty at the decision.

Hi All,

I think you're right Sue, db is being selfish . Don't know what you can do about it though unless making him feel guilty will work....It doesn't with my babyDB but then he doesn't have or want children so I guess he has a sort of excuse.

How's it going being back at work, by the way? I found it quite hard even doing part time; I got soooo tired, particularly when dd was unwell and grumpy!

Still haven't got my ability to taste things back completely, so still not much temptation to eat bad stuff.

But my legs are aching something rotten. My own fault - was off sick yesterday, so at home, and I decided to clean the oven (for the first time in living memory - I have done it before, but I can't remember when it was last done). The painting the stuff on and leaving for 3 hours was fine, but the crouching down and cleaning it all off again is what's done for my thigh muscles. I'm so unfit and unflexible (inflexible sounds wrong somehow).

Report
littlemisssensible · 22/03/2007 13:38

My sympathies JackieNo but at least you have a gleaming oven!
