HELP how do I lose weight? I keep trying but can't stop eating. Where has my will power gone? When I know I am on the road to destruction why can't I find my will power? Feel like I am a lost cause and idiot

Maybe you don't Schneebly but some one must make it worth the supermarket's while to devote a whole aisle just to crisps. And if you compulsively over eat them rather than wholemeal bread, you will ingest more calories quicker.

I've heard people say they can eat a whole packet of biscuits at one sitting (esp if WW). I've never heard any one say they've eaten a whole 800g wholemeal loaf in one go.

If im in a mood to eat i will eat anything i can find in the house.
Bread would be toast with a good layer of clover spread and jam. I make flapjacks with honey, nuts and raisins and leave out the golden syrup in some hope they are healthier but then i scoff 4 pieces at a time.

I had a look at SW but couldn't take in the info and how it works. No meeting in my area but would like to try it.

fattime Have you thought about getting a Drs appointment? Maybe we could make a pact to phone on the same day for an appointment?

Tortoise, your first line says it all.

If you recognise that your hunger is emotional not physical, then you need emotional not medical help imo. And certainly not a commercial organisation trying to make money out of your weight yo-yoing up and down.

Its mainly picking in the evening. And sometimes in the day time.
I can go without food all day but as soon as i eat i want to keep eating and will be looking for something else to eat. Im not sure its emotional. Probably didn't word 1st line very well.
I don't class my self as obese though. Just over weight!

Hello - I'm not trying to 'sell' the diet but have a look at the Cambridge Diet Thread (3) and see how much weight we've all lost in a short amount of time. I kept eating as I just thought "what's the point, I;m fat anyway" but now I've lost 17lbs in 7 weeks, I can actually see the difference in a short time and want to stick to it until I reach my target. Once I see myself slimmer, I know I'll want to remain that way, and get healthier at the same time.
Anyway have a look at the thread and see what people say about it or check out the website: www.cambridgediet.co.uk

Tortoise, I find if I don't eat for more than 4 hours I get too hungry - brain will switch to famine mode. Perhaps that's why you get cravings.

I don't normally go without food. Just an example that i can if i need to ie if im nervous about something or out for the day and cant afford to buy food for me.

I saw this on Amazon and maybe it is something that can help you to find your motivation and galvanise your willpower. There are 183 reviews and most of them are postive.
