dd is now 6 months old and initially I got down to 9st11 just througfh running around after 2 kids. But now that life is settling down again I weighed myself this morning and am 10st 9 - never been that big when not pregnant. Anyone got any tips they'd like to share to spur like minded people on for the summer?!

write down everything you eat, stick to 3 meals a day (no snacks) and if you feel hungry between meals have a glass of water of a cup of tea.

oh and give yourself 1 day off a week so you don't feel like your always missing out because your constantly on a diet!

I've always found it quite easy to loose weight, but after the usual xmas binge can't shift any at all. I'm eating 1500 calories a day and doing three hours tough exercise a week but nothings happening. Is this what happens as you get old????

I did a 3 day fruit and veg thing (won't call it a diet!) to stop me eating my normal choc bar and other junk every day which made me feel better. It was fun trying out different foods - fruit like 1/2 a melon, a banana and an apple or mango/pawpaw for lunch, a pear mid afternoon, and sweet potato sliced and cooked with cauli and whatever else for supper - didn't feel hungry at all!!

set some incentives for weight loss (new dress, facial, bath etc.)

only weigh yourself once a week

only drink at weekends

eat less bread

Vegetable soups (everything you've got in the fridge simmered in veg. stock) with a slice of nice crusty bread (just the one slice is very low fat. In the summer chicken kebabs o the barbeque with lots of roast veg.
Spray oil rather than bottled oil is fantastic for cooking.
I need ideas for sweet things though, that's where I struggle!

AAAAh - I'm with you Rosie - always put on weight over Xmas and it normally comes off naturally in spring when I stop being such a couch potato - I'm on about 1500 cals too and nothings shifting - all I want is to be able to get back into my jeans and stop wearing tracky bottoms

I know its not good for you to do - but what about the cabbage soup diet - a good kick start for a few days!

Does anyone have a copy of it or know where I can get one from off the net?

Apparently it isn't all soup!

TIA X

ooh some excellent tips on here already to get me motivated When I lost weight for my wedding 4 years ago I did it by only have salad and protien for lunch - no bread, which worked really well so might give that a go. Can't seem to get up the enthusiasm for exercise at the moment. Think it probably is partly due to getting older

How about getting out in the garden on this beautiful sunny day instead of sitting in front of the computer and digging up the borders (this said with smiley with halo on head as this is where I'm now headed......)
