2 stone to lose in 2 months? Mid 30s? Have pre-schoolers?

Have seen weight creep up since having second DC 2 years ago. 5'5" weighting 11 st 5 and want to lose 2 stone in two months. Was always around 9.5 stone pre kids and size 10. Now even 12 is getting tight...
Do join if you are similar. Very hard with small kids, they are 2 and 4 and sleep badly so I find it hard adopting a healthy lifestyle but feel sluggish and overweight. I work a demanding job 3 days a week too. Fortunately work from home so can fit in a swim after dropping kids off those 3 days and intend to start running early evening for 20 mins or so on the other days. Hate yoga and gym.

Currently worked out that I'm taking in about 2500-3000 calories most days as eat junk food (pizza, takeaways, crisps, cake etc) and drink most evenings (half bottle wine or gin and tonic or bottle of beer) I need to cut down to 1600 calories a day I think so aiming to cut booze right down and limit each meal to 500 cals ish with 100 for fruit mid afternoon.

Vegetarian and can't do 5:2 as I'm a fainter! Would definitely be at risk of fainting on fast days especially in heat.

Will link to 500 ish cal recipes on the thread

Can I join? I have a 4 and 1 year old and really struggling to lose the weight I have gained. I'm more like 14stone I think but want to loose 2 stone too. How hard can it be to eat 1800 kcal or even 2000. But I know I eat a lot more than that.

signalred · 14/06/2016 22:36

Go team, your doing fab well done, just had a quick glance through. Diet looks great just try and nip
Some
Of the sugars in the bud. Mainly cereals and deffo orange juice!!!

NamelessEnsign · 14/06/2016 22:58

Hello suitable, of course! Welcome. I am often surprised by what I manage to consume when I'm tired or rushed or overwhelmed. I've made sure we don't have much junk food in the house which is helping me, and deliberately replacing previous biscuit breaks with carrot sticks or apple slices. It's a bit dull but I think it can make a few hundred kcal difference each day.

Do you exercise much? I guess that's the other way to allow for extra kcal :)

goteam · 15/06/2016 08:48

Welcome suitable.

I know signal, I just don't know what else to have for a quick breakfast.

Exhausted today as little one was awake from 1-4.30. Need some resolve as I have the kids today so hard work!

How's everyone doing today? I didn't lose a pound today as I did for the previous 4 days which I put down to not having a great lunch yesterday. Have a pizza and wine evening with some friends later so going to have to try for healthiest options.

Healthy lunch of giant couscous with grilled courgette, cherry tomatoes, basil, lemon, toasted pumpkin seeds and a bit of feta though with a squeeze of lemon. Pretty filling although I did have an afternoon cup of proper tea and a Ferraro rocher! Not ideal but I would usually be having a big slice of cake so I let my tiredness and need of a pick me up win!

I'm in as well if that's ok. 5'5 and 11st1 ( just discharged from hospital a few days ago and lost 5lb while I was in there)
I've been toying with the idea of giving up meat and I haven't eaten any all week so that's going ok.
B- Greek yogurt and blueberries
L- Black bean and avocado salad with lime and chilli dressing and a slice of sourdough
Dinner will be broccoli, asparagus and pea quiche (spelt pastry) with sweet potato wedges and salad.
S- nectarine, and the last of my whole nut chocolate.
No booze because of my meds which is s good thing!

I've just got Anna Jones' new recipe book and it's wonderful, she has great recipes on her website as well.

Good luck for the rest of the night!

goteam · 15/06/2016 15:55

Welcome Crutches. Sorry about the hospital stay. Hope you're getting better.

Those meals sound delicious. Never heard of Anna Jones but her food looks great.

I want to give these a try too.

That's great, well done!
M&S had some lovely veggie BBQ stuff in today, I got lentil and quinoa burgers and some butternut squash and paprika sausages which look lovely.
I'm still not up to cooking from scratch just yet so have raided M&S Blush

goteam · 15/06/2016 16:42

Ooh, the quiche was bought...where was it from?

OP posts:
goteam · 15/06/2016 16:44

The M&S stuff sounds great. Quite a way from a store where we live but may have to plan a visit.

FeckinCrutches · 15/06/2016 16:46

M&S again, the shame! 😃

Not so good here today - sleep deprivation and a gain (I was so good dammit!) and rushing around like a mad thing.

I have serious food envy for the things you have mentioned! Maybe I should replicate your meals :)

I am planning an early night tonight and a run tomorrow so hopefully back on track!

FeckinCrutches · 15/06/2016 17:21

It's so hard when you're tired, so easy to eat quick stuff for energy that ends up being rubbish Sad onwards and upwards!

goteam · 15/06/2016 17:27

Sorry about the gain, Nameless but just a blip. Am sure I'll have a gain tomorrow after an evening of pizza and wine (however moderate) but I don't want to be a party pooper!

Amazing how rushing around and running after small people doesn't have the same effect as exercise. Quite annoying!

Bit of a struggling day here, I've felt hungry and wanted to snack most of the day. I've mostly resisted though which is positive. Busy at work so fewer Fitbit steps too. Have about 700 calories left to play with so should be ok for a decent dinner.

Breakfast: (homemade) beans and a slice of toast
Lunch: hummus, avocado & sundried tomato salad
Snacks: mango and (unfortunately) a handful of JellyBabes
Dinner will involve salmon but I've got no further than that.

NamelessEnsign · 15/06/2016 18:21

Sorry, I should have said welcome, crutches Smile.

DH just made me a delicious Szechuan stir fry with tofu and zoodles - it was so so good! I really enjoyed eating it. But there are leftovers which is a dangerous game!

FeckinCrutches · 16/06/2016 08:37

11st exactly this morning 😮

Hospital this morning, so mango and yogurt for breakfast.

Hopefully out for lunch with friends at a local pub, so probably halloumi and quinoa salad

Stuffed peppers and salad for dinner

Not allowed to exercise at all at the minute so that's frustrating.

What's everyone else's plan?

goteam · 16/06/2016 13:29

Well done Crutches! 11 st here too. Surprised as I had a couple of glasses of wine last night not to mention half a pizza.

Breakfast was slice of wholmeal toast with peanut butter and orange juice, managed a morning swim and had coffee and oat biscuit at 11, having lunch now which is tofu and veg stir fry with buckwheat noodles. Frustratingly have a meeting 4-6 which is an hour commute away so will have to have later dinner. There'll be loads of biscuits there too! Planning Greek salad for dinner with grilled aubergine on the side.

Well done both of you Smile.
10st 11 here and I am heading out for 5k in half an hour.

Another odd day here with a bad night (teething baby and husband working until 2am). We were both up with the baby so I got up at 6ish and went back to bed at 9ish! So I am behind with my steps today.

Porridge for breakfast (not very low carb) and egg mayo for lunch.

Having a bit of a wobble but I'm hoping to feel much cheerier and more alert after the run.

Bishybishybarnabee · 16/06/2016 19:36

Been ok here today. Avocado on Ryviya for breakfast, hummus sandwich for lunch and cauli-rice and prawns for dinner. Got in about 10k waking with the buggy too. Not feeling hungry either which is nice!

NamelessEnsign · 17/06/2016 16:23

How are you doing?

I knocked two and a half minutes from my 5k time so even a little bit of weight loss seems to help! I'm back where I was a few days ago so a 4lb loss this week and my BMI is at 25.7, hurrah!

Bishybishybarnabee · 18/06/2016 08:46

Finally weighed myself this morning, ten days in and I've lost 5lbs. Really chuffed with that, was worried I wouldn't have lost much and would get discouraged but it's motivation to keep going.
Slice of toast for breakfast this morning, planning a carb free lunch then we'll see what dinner brings. Planning a nice long run too while DS goes to his Grans.

ilovespikyballs · 18/06/2016 09:51

Hello - can I join you? Struggling to lose weight after twin pregnancy (I have a 4 year old and 2 year old twins) and have hit 13 stone (5' 7"). If I don't sort it now, the weight is going to keep creeping on. Need to find the motivation to stay away from the snacks and start couch to 5k!

NamelessEnsign · 18/06/2016 10:05

Well done Bish that's amazing!

spikyballs. I too love spiky balls ;) The Pilates kind? Welcome to the thread!

I hadn't run for years before this baby (injury prone) though I do play a team sport. I'm up to a reasonable 10k pace now and it feels so good! And is really giving me the motivation to lose the weight; I feel every extra pound as I'm dragging myself around the hilly route!
