My son will be 16 weeks on Thursday. I am 5'4 and as of this morning 74.8kg.
I really let myself go during pregnancy and aiming to get to 57kg with no time limit.

I am hoping to achieve this by sensible eating, just less of everything with no restriction of any food group and by running 3 times a week and swim once a week.

My short term goal is to get to 70 kg.

I would love for anyone in a similar place to join me so we can motivate, encourage and support each other. Grin

Oh. Can i join too!

DS2 is 5mo so a bit late starting. Am 80kg and 5'8". Want to be 70kg/11st which is where I was at pre DS1 (way back in 2013). A combination of living on pasta and sweet things in pregnancy, SPD for the duration, post natal prolapse and killer haemorrhoids Sad making even walking difficult, let alone exercise. But I'm getting in gear now.

Aiming for veg-heavy diet (salads and soups). Major sugar reduction. Farewell to large portions of carbs. And will attempt 30 day shred which did between the kids and didn't get rid of a lot of weight but sure made me look better. Not so easy to find time with a baby and a demanding toddler!

Starting today. Good luck to everyone.

mnpeasantry · 08/06/2016 12:36

Welcome tango!

Warm* your salad sounds delicious!

Eagle you sound really active. What are you growing on your allotment?

No buggy fit for me today. Woke up with mastitis so had to head to the docs for an emergency appointment. I'm having a quiet day with DD2.

Lunch was butternut squash soup and a slice of bread.

Warmblanket · 08/06/2016 13:45

Welcome tango!
Sounds like you have a sensible plan. I also love carbs too much and trying to limit my intake which is so hard arggh

Oh no peasant I hope it's not too painful for you and it clears up soon Flowers

My son has been a nightmare today Grin so haven't had lunch yet!

I hope your day improved warm and you had a nice lunch.

How has everyone's day been?

Today's not been my best nutritionally but think I'm still within calories. I padded out what was a very healthy houmous and wrap based lunch with Doritos.

Do you all have an allocated weigh in day each week?

Dolly80 · 10/06/2016 07:53

Does anyone know how many calories I should be eating? 5ft 6ins & currently 86.5kgs. On MFP I've got 1390 per day but I've now stayed the same for 3 weeks. Should I be eating more/less?

mnpeasantry · 14/06/2016 08:12

Hi Dolly,

I have the same. Scales aren't moving though I know I'm doing the right things. I expect you'll suddenly have a big drop one of these days.

Dolly80 · 14/06/2016 10:50

I hope so! Started an aerobics class on Saturday so hoping shifting my butt will shift the kgs. Also going to try and get more walking in (although the weather seems to be conspiring against me achieving that)

AGruffaloCrumble · 14/06/2016 10:57

Hi, I'd like to join too!
DD2 is 8 weeks old.
I'm 5'3 and 74kg/11st 10 and would like to be back down to at least 9st.
I'm also breastfeeding and I believe I would be losing weight from just this if I wasn't stuffing my face with sugar and treats from tiredness Blush so I've just cut out the junk for the past two days and I'm trying to stick to three meals a day and a small treat after dinner alongside 10k steps.

PetersonPeterson · 14/06/2016 13:12

I am a bit ahead of you guys- my youngest is now 7 months so I'm a bit less exhausted. Have been trying to lose weight since she was about 3 months. Just wanted to say don't feel disheartened if progress is slow- it took weeks before I actually started losing weight, during which time I walked lots more, started to jog gently a bit and started eating more healthily. What has finally worked quite rapidly is cutting calories down to 1,400 a day: I eat fruit and full fat Greek yoghurt for breakfast with some ground flax seeds on top, omlette or soup for lunch followed by 1 square dark chocolate, then healthy ish supper with loads of veg and another 2 squares chocolate. Snacks are either fruit, one slice of cheese or some almonds and LOADS of water. I have to stick to this every day or I lose motivation, but currently losing 2-3 lb a week without feeling hungry. Have gone from 11st 3 to 9st 12, quite gradually, over last couple of months. Some days I'm tired or extra hungry and I eat more, but I am just making sure I only do that one day and go back to being good the next day. Keep going everyone. It can be done!

Maybebabybee · 14/06/2016 14:46

Can I join? Little one is 12 weeks. I put on a massive 4st when pregnant, going from 10st to 14stBlushBlushBlush

I'm 2 st down but I've stalled at 12st 1. I'm only 5ft3 so I look massive and am a tight size 16 which makes me feel gross.

My goal weight is 10st in the first instance but I'd like to get down to 9st eventually.

Don't want to diet. Just eat healthier. Atm there's a lot of choc and biscuits which needs to stop.

Maybebabybee · 14/06/2016 14:48

Also may I ask how people manage to do 10,000 steps a day? I get out with the pram but there's only so many times I can walk round and round the park in the drizzle...

AGruffaloCrumble · 14/06/2016 15:15

Maybe I take a trip to the supermarket/park most days as I find its easier with a goal than just a walk. Nursery run twice a week as I don't drive is 2/3 miles too. I'm going to attempt some baby groups too.

mnpeasantry · 14/06/2016 15:32

That is very motivating. Well done you. 2 stone down at 3 months!

I'm not managing the 10k steps although I think I do more than the 5-6k that get registered as I don't always have the phone when doing the gardening, running up and down the stairs for nappy changes and general childcare around the house and getting involved at toddler classes. I do walk up a very steep hill and do a lot of baby wearing so I hope I'm getting more bang for my steps iykwim.

Though the scales haven't shifted much I have lost half an inch on my waist, feel better and am getting lots of compliments so I hope I'm on the right track.

Maybebabybee · 14/06/2016 15:36

I can't really claim credit for it - 1 stone was definitely baby, placenta and water weight and the next one is due to breastfeeding I think!!

My boobs are totally humongous - I gained about five inches on them and they were already a GG cup before I was pregnant so I think I can blame some of the weight on that in denial

Want2bSupermum · 14/06/2016 15:44

Joining. I didn't feel right so went for my annual check up. My weight wasn't shifting so I was worried I had a thyroid problem due to other issues going on (nails splitting, dry hair etc). Turns out I'm just fat. Dd2 is now 11 weeks so high time I get my diet under control. My cholesterol was high and my BMI puts me in the obese category. I'm in the US so work in lbs.

Weight at docs yesterday: 190lb BlushConfusedShockBlush
Initial goal: 185lb as this puts me in the overweight category.
Final goal: 135lb (my pre baby weight 5 years ago)

I hate being this big and huge issue with lack of exercise over the past 5 years. My diet has slipped too as I eat out so much more these days.

willhazboz · 14/06/2016 19:13

Can I join? Dd2 is 6 weeks. I put on a huge amount of weight with dd1 so was already 4st overweight when I got pregnant with dd2. I'm currently 14st6 1/2 was 16.7 when I went into hospital. And was 14.4 when I got pregnant. However I am only 5ft 4 so massively overweight! Blush
I weighed 10st 4 when I got pregnant with dd1 and was a size 10-12. I am tracking calories with MFP and steps with Fitbit. But I am also struggling to get to 10,000. Don't think I ever will until dd2 isn't feeding 6+ times a day for an hour at a time! I'm weighing in on a Friday morning.
We are going away in July so am working towards seeing 13 something on the scales by then. And then we are getting them christened in September so want to be comfortable in photos etc.

Want2bSupermum · 14/06/2016 19:39

I get to 10k steps by walking our dog in the evening. During the day I am sorting things out and feeding. Ive learned that 10k steps is roughly 5 miles of walking. Best part of having a stroller for the baby is that you can do so much more in terms of walking. I regularly walk up to the supermarket during the week. It's 1.2 miles each way. If the baby is crying I take her out in the pram for a walk.

mnpeasantry · 14/06/2016 22:10

Welcome want2b and Will!

What kind of dog have you got want2b?

Want2bSupermum · 14/06/2016 23:37

I have a golden. He is my PFB and I love taking him for a longer walk. I feel guilty that he has to tolerate the children and their noise!

mnpeasantry · 15/06/2016 15:51

He sounds gorgeous!

Hope the weather has held for everyone today. I made it to a buggy boot camp today and felt great afterwards.

Homemade muesli for breakfast and a soup for lunch.

Any weigh in success stories this week?

willhazboz · 15/06/2016 17:39

I went on a big walk today with my dog want2b but still not far enough! I can't do evenings at the mo with dd2 being so small and my dh works shifts aswell. And don't want to be out for hours with the pram as not fair on my eldest (nearly 2) who wants to be on her feet!

Want2bSupermum · 15/06/2016 18:00

Can your 2 yo go on a scooter?

willhazboz · 16/06/2016 20:26

My 2 year old will not go in the direction I want Grin she's best described as 'wilful'. Also we don't have anywhere nice (ie parks) near us that doesn't have a large body of water included. However I am on 9,600 steps today so am going to hit 10k. Doubt I will be able to do it regularly for a while but will give it my best shot! Good idea though want2b- I'm not trying to be awkward - promise!!
