C-section tummy - when does it go away?

I had a c-section 13 weeks ago (non emergency) and still have a numb stomach that isn't flabby but just pregnant looking (about 3 or 4 months). Whereas after DS nearly 2 years ago (not a c-section) my stomach was pretty much back to normal within a week.

I know people say it's because of having 2 children but I'm sure it must be due to the section. I'm still stuffing my face (breastfeeding you understand ) and DD was lighter than DS so I presume it's still in shock.

It would be nice to fit into some clothes. The problem is my old ones are too tight and the ones that just fit make my tummy ache.

Anyone had this experience?

Thank you SuzyWong! Am meeting Davros and Maomao next week. Do you fancy treking over to NW3? If not, we could arrange something another time.

Chicpea's diet - though a nightmare of starvation to me - is actually the real reasons why models and actresses are so slim. They don't eat. They tell you all kinds of lies in interviews about eating loads, but this is a typical sort of diet for someone who has to be thin for their job. And they don't eat bread or pasta. Claudia Schiffer told me she has an egg for breakfast, shrimp and salad for lunch and chicken or fish and veg for supper - and I bet that is on a 'binge' day! All models - except 16-year-olds who do eat pretty much anything - eat like this.

alamel - sit-ups are good and yes you should do them! however, when I was moaning at my DH that things were improving too slowly, he recommended adding the following exercise to the standard sit-ups, to work the bottom part of the stomach.

lie on your back with your legs fairly straight up in the air and crossed at the ankle. then try and push your feet up towards the ceiling, lifting your bum off the ground a little bit. you will feel it in your stomach. breathe out while you are doing this, and try and do it in a controlled way. repeat, say 10 times the first day and build up.

* I am not a medic and DH is not a fitness trainer, so I do not know how soon after a c-section you can do this. I guess once you are strong enough to do normal exercise.

good luck!
