Hi Bellarosa,

It sounds as you've been swamped by circumstances. I would suggest something you can do at home. That way it doesn't matter if you can't get a babysitter and you don't have to leave your little ones. Have you looked at any cross trainers/stepper or treadmill? They can be expensive and may take up a bit of space. If there is a large sports shop near you, get their brochure and look them up on line. There may be some piece of equipment (smaller or not too expensive) that may suit. If you exercise EVERYDAY you will reap the benefit. If you have a sports centre near you that have a creche, you may be able to go for exercise classes/gym or swimming regularly. I book my little one in for 2 hours twice a week while I go swimming and use the treadmill. You'll have to tackle the food front at the same time. Cut down straightaway on biscuits/cakes/sweets etc. Find and replace with LOW FAT alternatives. It won't be deprivation, it will be substitution. Avoid heavily processed food. I find my little guy's diet has improved in quality since mine has. Don't mean to ramble. I struggle to create new and better habits but I do feel much better now.

thank you westerngirl, i think you've got the right idea, i guess part of me is scared to take that first step, to committ to getting back in shape, unless i fail, if you get me.
i will look up to see if local sports centres have any creches as that sounds like it could really help.

i'll keep you posted!

Buy a skipping rope. Expect to lose more weight however by eating less, not exercise. Lots of people exercise, use 200 calories and tuck into a 500 calorie meal. They need a calculator.

Start with three regular healthy meals a day and try to cut out snacks.

sounds like me after ds2!

try to think back to what you were eating for a typical lunch when you weighed 10 stone, and compare it to what you eat now.

For me this was:
age 18: 2 slices of toast and a portion of sweetcorn and an apple from the school cafeteria, around 500 calories maybe?.

post baby: full round of mayo-stuffed sandwiches followed by 4 chocolate doughnuts, total around 1500 calories.

Once I faced up to reality it got easier to cut down what I was eating, and I did manage to lose all the weight over time. Exercise helped - I got a bike.
