Shifting stubborn bell fat?

eleven59 · 21/10/2015 11:40

I'm fairly fit, I run, do Pilates and I eat reasonably well.

However, I cannot shift my wobbly jelly belly mummy muffin top.

Have you managed to shift yours? Please tell me what works (unless it involves giving up wine!).

Thanks

Not yet but I'm on it! Mine isn't even a mummy muffin top, just a greedy person muffin top Grin

I've started using MFP just to do a sort of audit of my actual habits, don't know if I'll keep up with it for much longer as I'm hoping adding a new exercise will help. I ordered a beach body thing called PiYo although have never done yoga or Pilates before (am also a runner and have v tight hamstrings). DP says I don't want or need to lose weight as such, just body fat. If PiYo doesn't work then next spring I'll take up weight training and run a bit less.

I think so eleven, people are always telling me it's important to stretch but I'm lazy lol

F0xglove · 23/10/2015 22:14

I have the dvd, so what I do is the first run through of level two, followed by the first run through of level one. The cool down stretch at the end of level one is good.

I'm going to do that tomorrow morning.

Also, if you fancy a shorter, easier but still well worth doing 10 minute abs workout, check this one out

or Daniel from fitness blender's 15 minute standing abs one

oh I think I linked the same one twice. doh!

Some days I can't face getting down on a mat Confused

You can do all the exercises in the world but it comes down to diet - cut sugar out your diet and eat more protein to fill you up basically eat as clean as possible .Also do NOT cut out carbs as you need these to function!!

eleven59 · 24/10/2015 03:14

Absolutely agree Crushed! I feel woozy without carbs.

True, I don't bother with the core/abs workouts unless I'm also watching the intake. I tend to let both go at once! then when I get back on the wagon I try to lose five pounds before I feel energised enough to do some exercise.

F0xglove · 24/10/2015 10:58

ps, I can't cut out carbs either. I would have a bowl of porridge with skimmed milk in the morning, better than bread but still a carb. Dinner would be a healthy mix of veg and protein but some meals need to be easy. You can't wash and chop and weigh every mouthful all throughout the day when you're busy.

two plain ryvita with a cup of pukka vanilla chai tea. It sees off a carb withdrawal headache. But has fewer cals than a slice of bread........

Thank you for this thread. I'm bf DC3 which worked a treat for the first two but this time my tummy is still really big. DS1 asked me when the next baby was coming yesterday Shock I am comfort eating as I find looking after the children hard work and chocolate makes it all better at the end of the day. I power walk a lot as the school run is a mile each way but it's not enough. I can't get out to the gym as DD won't take a bottle. I am going to take inspiration from this thread and limit my snacking to mostly fruit/veg and not have treats every day. I have such a sweet tooth so I need to cut down on sugar. I will also do some of those quick workouts, they look fab.
Thanks again and good luck to everyone. Smile

That was me 8 years ago. I had a toddler and BCing baby. The weight dropped off the first time, but not for the second time breastfeeding. I don't know what the explanation for that it! the body gets more efficient at it???
